Gori (ゴリ Gori?) is a member of the Police Force.[1]

Appearance[]

Gori is a bulky man with the head of a mountain gorilla.

He wears a dark gray suit with a black tie. During the Final War, he has also been shown wearing armored police gear.[2]

Personality[]

Gori appears to be a firm, yet fair policeman. He is quite perceptive, as he was able to tell that Manami Aiba followed Danjuro Tobita out of genuine love and devotion, not by force, and after seeing Danjuro continuing to defend her, he was able to tell that this bond was mutual between them both. He is empathetic and believes that it is possible for people to change their ways, telling Danjuro that he could still do the right thing and turn over a new leaf.

Towards worse villains, such as Kyudai Garaki, Gori is far stricter and ordered him to be quiet while Kyudai was in his cell, though he was willing to hear him out when the doctor began to explain Dabi's origins.

Synopsis[]

U.A. School Festival Arc[]

Danjuro Tobita is interrogated

"It's a good thing you turned yourself in."

Gori is first seen after Gentle Criminal turns himself in to Hound Dog and Ectoplasm's clones following his botched attempt to sneak into U.A.'s School Culture Festival. Gentle claimed that he had brainwashed Manami Aiba into aiding his crimes, but Gori finds out that this is untrue, saying that the police can test for brainwashing easily and tells him not to tell feeble lies. After going through Danjuro's background, Gori sees that he became so desperate to accomplish his dream that he lost sight of the path he was going down. Gori tells him that it's a good thing he was stopped before he did something he wouldn't be able to come back from. He then tells Danjuro that he has what it takes to reform his life, saying that he isn't the type of person who is too lazy to try and start over, or a person who will rush to achieve results.

Upon hearing that he still has a second chance, Danjuro gets emotional and Gori offers to fetch him some tea. Danjuro requests black tea, but Gori refuses and instead gets him instant tea.[3]

Paranormal Liberation War Arc[]

Following the Paranormal Liberation War and the catastrophic results that followed, Gori took part in the interrogation of Kyudai Garaki, who was arrested after his allegiance to the Paranormal Liberation Front was discovered. Gori managed to extract information from him concerning Tomura Shigaraki's revival.[4]

Final War Arc[]

Chapter 350

Kyudai addresses Gori from his cell.

As the Final War began between the Heroes and Villains, Gori is left in charge of keeping watch over the inmates. Kyudai Garaki talks from his cell and mentions that the final battle must be going down as they speak, saying how there's less officers on duty. Gori orders him to be quiet, but Kyudai begins to explain how All For One once sought out warped beings who were suitable for being raised as potential vessels, in case anything ever happened to Tomura. One day, All For One found a young boy who had nearly been burned to death by his own Quirk, stating that they intended to raise him as a potential vessel.

Gori questions why Kyudai is talking, before asking if this is a story about how All For One had things planned down from the very start. Kyudai claims that it is a warning, saying that they couldn't manipulate the boy into believing their words, even when they offered to restore his flames back to full power. The young man, who was in fact Toya Todoroki prior to becoming a villain, burned down the day care he had woken up in and they chose to let him go, as they never expected him to last more than a month with the horrendous damage caused to his body. When Kyudai encountered Dabi again, he saw that it was only the vengeance he had towards his father that kept him alive for so long, and that Dabi grew up to become a destructive being that even All For One couldn't wrap around his finger.[2]

After the war ended, Gori congratulates Gentle for his contribution to the Heroes, which has been officially acknowledged, and he's been pardoned, releasing him from prison as he and La Brava tearfully and happily reunite once again.[5]
