The Hellish Todoroki Family: Final ( () (ごく) (とどろき) くん () FINAL (ファイナル) Jigoku no Todoroki-kun-chi Fainaru?) is the four hundred and twenty-sixth chapter of Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia.

Summary[]

Natsuo and Fuyumi tell an arriving Shoto that he didn't need to come, with Rei saying the same thing to the two of them. A heavily bandaged Enji states that the same for her, as Shoto tells them they aren't all here out of some sense of duty. The officer informs the Todorokis that Toya can speak, but only for a few minutes per day, and that he's currently facing a slow march toward death.

Toya, who is completely contained in a life support unit, opens his eyes to see his family, commenting how everyone's here like as if he's a tourist attraction, before starting to heavily cough. Enji tells him they're here to tell him about what comes next, specifically that he's retiring as a hero. He states that was always his plan once the Final War was over, but now he can't even stand up on his own, saying that Endeavor the Hero has died and burned away, and Toya's flames were fiercer than any he's had.

Toya sarcastically gives his condolences, remarking that he shouldn't be trying to play nice after everything is over, calling him a coward. Enji remarks that he's right, since he knows him too well since he's always kept a close eye on him, and only ever wanted him to watch him, but he never did. He continues that despite what some people may say, his Hellflame is burning inside Toya, and that he's been watching the video denouncing him every single day. He concludes saying from now on he will come visit everyday so they can talk, even if it may be too late.

Toya's heart race continues to increase, with the officer informing them that any further strain could be too dangerous. Enji tells Rei, Natsuo, and Fuyumi for them to talk and make good use of the time Shoto made sure they'd have together, saying that he's free to hate him and to speak his mind. Fuyumi responds she wants to talk too, and Rei adds there's so much she wants to say. Toya can only look on silently as the monitor's beeps get faster, with the officer telling them they can return tomorrow. Shoto asks for one last question and asks Toya what his favorite food is. He initially doesn't answer, making them believe he's reached his limit and to let him rest, but he then responds soba, which Shoto says is the same for him. Once everyone's left, Toya begins to tear up as he thinks about their fight, and internally apologizes to Shoto.

Outside, Natsuo tells Enji that he's done, that nothing's changed about how he feels and doesn't want anything to do with him, adding that he and his girlfriend are getting hitched, but without a wedding and without him meeting her, which Enji understands and apologizes for. Fuyumi then reveals that she quit her teaching job, but one of the students' mothers found her a new job to provide support. Natsuo then says that they've taken responsibility and punishments been doled out, wondering if that's enough, and Enji states he will be making amends and apologizing for his sins for the rest of his life. He says even if they are around to see it or not, he will shield the kids from the fallout to the best of his ability, and this is the reason why he survived.

Natsuo tells him it sounds like hell, and Enji says it's been like that since he took him up on his offer to tango. Natsuo then awkwardly responds that he never thought of his dad as a badass until this moment. As Shoto is about to head back to school with Natsuo and Fuyumi, he calls out to Enji and Rei, saying that he'll be okay because he has his classmates there for him, and that he'll be the man he wants to become. Enji and Rei then reconnect with Untenmaru and the Flaming Sidekickers waiting for them, while Rei tells Enji that there are some people watching him, revealing a text message from Hawks.

Elsewhere, Hawks is talking to Lady Nagant, wondering why she isn't leaving even though he said she is free to go. She is adamant not yet, since the outside world still scares her and she worries about being exploited again. Hawks is saddened since he wanted her help with many things, and she responds that after what Izuku showed them all that day, she wants to see how society will receive this and how things will change, so won't leave until it pans out. She snarks she will be dining on the taxpayers expense, which Hawks remarks calling her a villain.

At another place, Gentle is released after his contribution has been officially acknowledged, with him and La Brava tearfully and happily reuniting. Hawks gets in contact with Enji, revealing that he has become the new President of the Hero Public Safety Commission, as he then gets in contact with Yokumiru Mera wondering how things will change. Meanwhile at Central Hospital, a recovering Spinner is awakened by someone entering his room.

It may have seemed that Endeavor's arm grew back in the last chapter, but just assume that was your eyes playing tricks on you.
