Unseasonable ( () (せつ) (はず) れの Kisetsuhazure no?) is the four hundred and twenty-fifth chapter of Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia.

Summary[]

It is now June, as the third-year students at U.A. High School are finally having their graduation. Tamaki and Nejire are both shown receiving their diplomas, as the students in particular react devastatingly over Nejire's graduation. Present Mic, who is MC-ing the event, apologizes for the delayed graduation, thinking about how the cherry blossoms already fell, but intends to still give them a glorious send-off. He shouts and the third years enthusiastically join in, as the former second years watching are start to get the jist of it, while the former first years watch speechless.

Hanta asks if they're all supposed to be crying, while Eijiro shouts that it's like a festival. Tamaki asks Nejire how her injuries are, which she says she still feels, but is still on the top of the world somehow, which Tamaki says is thanks to Mirio who was watching over them after they were knocked out during the battle. The steady process behind the requesting of resources from foreign countries, budgeting and fundraising of the restoration plan, and deploying enough aid and medical treatment, was all thanks to Principal Nezu, using his global renown to spur on the other nations, and that he was always looking at what would come after the battle.

After Mawata Fuwa gives the farewell address as the students' representative, Present Mic calls on the graduates' representative, Mirio. He starts off his speech with a sincere statement thanking everyone for being in attendance, befuddling them all for not starting off with a gag. Mirio continues that they lost so much and gained nothing, and that a Heroes fight is to bring a negative situation back to square one. He mentions how the general education, support, and management courses each used their experience to come together as one to fight the good fight, however they're still not back at square one yet, and the three years they spent at the school will be put toward that purpose, as today was not that goal. He concludes that a world without smiles and humor has no bright future, that they seek a positive world where people can live their lives in good cheer, and that is the finish line they're racing toward. He thinks for Nighteye to check him out, as he snaps, using his Quirk to blast of into the air, shouting to his underclassmen just as Bibimi Kenranzaki unleashes her giant robot on the cheering crowd.

Class 1-A regroup in their (temporary) Class 2-A classroom, where Shota Aizawa states that typically they wouldn't have the same homeroom teacher two years in a row, but given all the circumstances they will be with him for at least another year, to the students' excitement. Mina starts to cry happy to see him, while Hanta asks Katsuki what he's doing there, which he says is fine as long as he takes it easy. Just then, Yuga enters to say his goodbyes since he will be leaving U.A. Even despite the class' insistence, and both Shota and Naomasa saying he could stay, Yuga says he wants to make matters right, since the only reason he came to the school was because of All For One's scheme, he doesn't believe he deserves a graduation. He states he will atone, and will once more walk the path of a hero, and as he places a piece of cheese in front of Izuku's mouth, says it'll be fine since he reached out to all of them and took their hands.

He promises that someday he will be worthy of standing beside them all, and as everyone reacts to his words, he begins emotionally blasting his Navel Lasers all over. He then reveals another surprise to the class, that Hitoshi will be taking his place as Class A's newest member. Everyone is excited to see him and starts swamping him for questions, causing Yuga to get jealous, so he blasts some more light again asking about a farewell party. Toru calls out to Yuga to stop, as his light causes her Quirk to glitch again as she becomes visible, causing the students to call her face cute. Minoru is shocked, saying that a Goddess was among them, but is stopped by Shota, regrouping everyone as they have important things to discuss.

Mawata speaks to the class, telling them that the second and third years of the hero course will be joining the greater restoration effort, which she is in charge of organizing; in addition to the restoration projects, they'll also be involved in the nationwide effort to maintain law and order. She continues that they've made it past All Might's retirement and the war in Jaku, reminding them that after all the major battles in their textbooks, there's a period of chaos the books don't talk about; Shoto mentions that's when there's no symbol, and how All For One was born during chaos like that. Mawata then casually addresses Shota as "Era-sen", surprising the students, as she reveals she used to be in his class, and is jealous they weren't expelled like her, but mentions how he gave them a taste of death, but it's thanks to that they realized why they wanted to be Heroes, causing Shota to feel embarrassed, all the while Izuku looks on pensively.

Later, several Class A students discuss how new first years will be coming soon and they'll be senpais starting tomorrow. Hanta jokingly references Ochaco's big speech, and just as Izuku addresses her, she points out his shaved hair due to his wounds, hoping that it will grow back soon. Rikido also mentions Fumikage's new hairdo due to his injuries as well. Ochaco continues smiling, but Izuku looks on un-nerved. Meanwhile, a mysterious person covered in stitches uses scissors to cut something, while breathing heavily and crying, before proceeding to wander alone through an abandoned, devastated city. Elsewhere, Shoto is asked if he will be going to the farewell party, and he says he will as long as it isn't today, telling Izuku he's feeling good. He prepares himself, where at the same time, Endeavor faces down a restrained Dabi in the process of surgery.
