Let You Down (Let (レット) you (ユー) down (ダウン) Retto Yū Daun?) is the three hundred and forty-third chapter of Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia.

Summary[]

All For One thinks about how lies don't work on him, thanks to a Quirk that he stole back during the first era of Quirks, which has grown stronger due to his mix of other Quirks. He recalls the original owner being a disappointment, however his descendant has become much more impressive, even working alongside All Might to bring him down. Either way, he figures the Quirk will bring him victory.

He calls up the Aoyama family, asking for a "40 year Macallan" which they respond will be "aged 16 years" that their "son will deliver". He asks for their son's contact info, which they agree too. All For One senses no ill will, lies, or deception in them, meaning they're telling the truth through their coded conversation, and all prepared, is ready to meet up tomorrow.

All For One's dramatic reappearance

The Demon Lord makes his return.

In the abandoned city outside U.A., Izuku meets up with Yuga who had just called him to meet there. Izuku asks if he's supposed to be detained, and Yuga says his parent's lawyer had him released. Izuku wants to tell everyone so they can restart their search efforts, but Yuga tells him to wait to talk.

After talking about how surprising it is the courts still exist despite Japan in ruins, Yuga proceeds to tell Izuku about All For One's true goals. Now that Japan has fallen, the Japanese yen has tanked in value, forcing Japanese companies into bankruptcy, alongside the coordinated villain attacks all over the world. With the world facing a crisis akin to the Great Depression, or even the period of the advent of Quirks, chaos has already begun to ensue, starting to worry Izuku.

Yuga continues that with the nations already abandoned Japan to prioritize their own stability, they will be forced to scramble to order for some way to maintain long-term stability. Eventually, he asks if they end up running out of water, what would happen if a man wielding a Quirk that can generate water appeared, along with electricity, gas, or strength. In a world where everything crumbles without control, there is an individual that can take the initiative, and in turn, All For One will rise as the demon lord of the world.

Yuga attacks All For One

Yuga betrays All For One.

Izuku says there's no way that will happen because the world still has them, as Yuga apologizes that it has to end here, nervously wanting to protect his mom and dad. From behind Yuga, All For One re-emerges. He thanks Yuga for delivering Izuku as promised, asking how terrifying it was for betraying his friend, and congratulating him on his big speech about his goals, having also promised his family a blessed existence in his new world. Izuku yells that he believed in him, while Yuga tearfully states his pain can't be measured anymore... before turning around and blasting All For One with his Navel Laser.

All For One is caught off guard by the attack while Yuga hides in Izuku's Smokescreen. The two state how he fell for their act, and how good their performances were, with Yuga declaring for his mom, dad, and everyone's sake, he'll fight All For One. All For One is disappointed and confused, having not sensed any lies or ill-intent in their conversations, unsure of how they deceived him.

Heroes arrive through Warp Gate

The final battle begins!

Annoyed, All For One states that even if it was a setup, One For All is so close to him anyway, and since Search is able to track the positions and weaknesses of those it has been used on before, all the Heroes Tomura looked at in the previous battle are miles away and would never make it in time. Using his Warping Quirk, All For One summons an army of villains consisting of many prison escapees, League of Villains, and Paranormal Liberation Front, declaring it is too late.

However, All For One is once again taken aback when he spots Kurogiri's Warp Gate starting to appear behind them, wondering how they activated him. He thinks this saves him the trouble of getting him back, only to spot Neito Monoma appearing from one of them. As the rest of the Heroes begin emerging from the gates, Yuga declares to All For One the one thing he knows he fears most: that the world knows Japan isn't finished and if they can lead the way, it will inspire the rest of them, so today is the day where he falls.

I played Smash Bros. for the first time in a while, but my fingers still remembered the Falco combo. Nicely done, fingers!
