Central Hospital Team vs. Paranormal Liberation Front is a battle taken place during the Final War between a force of 200 heroes and Police Force members against an army of about 15,000 villains led by Spinner, made up of some of the last remnants of the Paranormal Liberation Front and thousands of heteromorph civilians sympathetic to their ideology.

Prologue[]

Spinner assembles the villains

Spinner becomes the leader of the heteromorphs.

Weeks before the start of the Final War, All For One and Skeptic had been fueling the image of Spinner as the guiding leader of the hundreds of heteromorphs who choose to hate the heroes because of the inequality experienced by their appearance. Spinner finds that notion about himself misleading, as he serves no great cause other than helping Tomura Shigaraki, but he is convinced to agree to the plan.[1]

Despite the fact that the Heroes have spread false rumors that Kurogiri has been transferred elsewhere,[2] at some point All For One discovers that he is being held at the Central Hospital. Since Kurogiri is still a key player in his plans, All For One wants to get him back and therefore sends Spinner and his followers to attack the place.[3] To aid him in his quest, All For One grants Spinner two more Quirks, Body Bulk and Scalemail, assuring him that they will not only provide him with power, but also the appearance of a true leader.[4] He also gives him a device that contains the recordings of his and Tomura's voices that will allow him to activate Kurogiri and command him with.[5]

Mezo asks to be part of the Hospital team

Mezo requests that he and Koji be able to participate in the Hospital front.

On the side of the Heroes, they are aware that the Villains were preparing an assault on the hospital. Thanks to a conversation he had with the mutant lady, one of the refugees within U.A., Mezo became aware of the impending mutant raid on Central Hospital, which prompted him to ask Shota Aizawa and All Might to assign him and Koji to that team. Mezo states that if he ignores that, he won't be able to call himself a hero. Realizing that the villains were not fooled by the false information they leaked, Shota asks Present Mic, who is the one in charge of defending the Hospital, to support the boys.[2]

And so, as All For One and his allies are tricked and dispersed to various parts of Japan, Spinner begins the attack on Central Hospital. He acquires an enormous appearance and strength thanks to the Body Bulk Quirk, and armed with his new makeshift sword, leads his army to face the heroes.[6]

Battle[]

The details from the beginning of this battle are unknown.
Battle at Central Hospital

Spinner tries to take down anyone who gets in his way.

Shortly after the start of the battle, heteropmorph civilians and PLF members begin marching their way to Central Hospital. While police officers are blown away by one heteromorph's quirks, Anima uses his birds to catch the officers and swarm the army. Through the smoke, a gigantic Spinner is about to slam the trainee with his sword, but Tentacole is able grab Anima and evades the attack. Present Mic yells that Shoto has defeated Dabi, which Tentacole comments that despite how cruel the duty placed on him was, he was able to win. Upon hearing Dabi's defeat, Spinner refuses to believe the news, dismissing the heroes' proclaims as an attempt of "information warfare". He simply can't accept that Dabi could have failed given how much more gifted his teammate was compared to him.

Commanding the heteromorph army, Spinner declares there's no way someone like Dabi could've lost, and orders his subordinates to break into the heroes' defenses and take Kurogiri back in order to destroy the status quo, for them and Tomura's sake. As Spinner and his army continue marching forward, Tentacole says he's proud to say he was in the same class as Shoto.[6] The battle between Spinner's followers against the forces of heroes and police continues, but soon the numerical superiority of the former begins to prevail.

Loud-Out Shout

Present Mic attacks a horde of villains attempting to storm the Central Hospital.

Present Mic jumps into the air, thinking to himself that Oboro has become quite popular, and attacks with a Loud-Out Shout at the army, but he is shocked to see how several of the enemy soldiers act as meat shields to block most of the sound waves. A flying warrior charges at Present Mic to impale him with a trident, but luckily Anima commands several ravens to get him out of the way. Present Mic thanks his student for saving him and asks about Tentacole. Anima replies that they got split up in the chaos of the confrontation.

Nearby, a group of riot policemen try to hold off a group of Spinner's supporters and protesters as best they can, but find themselves outnumbered and ask their squad leader to call for reinforcements. Unfortunately, he replies it's impossible and tells them to use the taser shields to push the mutants back, despite them actively dividing and isolating their forces.

Rock Lock is confronted by Mutants

Rock Lock is confronted by heteromorphs.

Several mutants begin to overwhelm Rock Lock, who thinks they are way too organized to be a random mob of rioters. Several of them begin to furiously reproach him that people with a human appearance like himself will never understand their plight.

Another group of mutants sporting Spinner flags gang up on Anima, knocking him to the ground and forcibly removing equipment from him. Anima asks them why they're all doing this and implores them to stop, but one of the heteromorphs, deducing that he is someone who grew up in a city, calls him a traitor of his kind. Here and there, despite the efforts of the heroes and policemen, the mutants continue to push and make a path for Spinner.

The battle spreads through the streets

The PLF adviser encourages heteromorphs to tear down the current society.

At the top of a building, a hooded adviser (黑 (恏悍) é å·¾ (恚恍悓) å¹¹ļæ½ļæ½ (恋悓恶) Kuro Zukin Kanbu?) of the Paranormal Liberation Front's Support (Brown) Regiment addresses himself to all the mutants, giving a speech about how they are mistreated by society, that the Quirk Counselling and education are useless, reminding them of various atrocities committed against them, and that in many places mutants are still despised even if they try to give the impression that things have improved.

The PLF adviser takes off his hood and says that they have never felt protected or helped by the heroes, because there are still many places where their influence does not reach. He says that mutants don't recognize heroes as their saviors, and concludes his speech by hailing Spinner as the one who will lead them to prominence in society.

Mezo uses Octoblow against Spinner

Tentacole prevents Spinner from killing two policemen.

Spinner, however, seems to not understand what he is talking about. The Quirks that All For One gave him are taking a severe toll on his mind to the point that he is turning into a drooling brute who is barely able to utter complete sentences. Still, all that matters to him is doing as he is told and orders his followers to take Kurogiri back as he approaches a pair of defenseless officers.

Before Spinner can land the deadly blow on them, Tentacole appears and unleashes an Octoblow to knock him over. Seeing their leader attacked enrages Spinner's followers, who quickly pounce on Tentacole, beating him up and calling him a traitor. Despite everything, Tentacole asks them what attacking the Hospital has to do with their cause, saying that in the previous war, the first thing the heroes did was ensure the safety of the patients at the Jaku General Hospital, something that the mutants didn't even think about.

Chapter 371

Everyone wants to know Spinner's plan regarding the raid on Central Hospital.

Recalling that he also was hated and attacked when he was young for his appearance, Tentacole pushes the rioters off of him, with his mouth and scars exposed, declaring that if they don't have some kind of plan, he won't let it stand.[3]

Spinner seems confused at the question that they might have a plan. Some mutants comment on the scar Tentacole has, but this doesn't shake their determination and ask Spinner for advice. However, Spinner has trouble thinking clearly, and all he can say in response is that he doesn't care. This leaves his followers confused, so the PLF adviser quickly steps in and "clarifies" that blood is inevitable when it comes to rewriting history, riling everyone back into fighting. As he spoke, he complained about how Tentacole and Spinner make things harder for him to handle.

Spinner unleashes Scalemail on Mezo

Spinner unleashes his Quirks to face Tentacole.

Tentacole addresses Spinner, telling him that this attack will set their cause back by 30 years, but he angrily tells him to shut up, activating his Scalemail Quirk to cover his entire body with massive scales. He thinks back to when he talked about playing video games with Tomura, as he does not care about anything that is not his friend.

Once his transformation is complete, Spinner used his sword to slice Tentacole, while shouting at the army to press forward. Tentacole uses his Dupli-Arms to protect himself, although Spinner manages to cut off several of his replicated arms. The strike sends him flying and Anima shouts his name.

The PLF adviser loudly praises Spinner's acts, assuring his followers that the blood they spill today will benefit their future. Anima can't believe what he was hearing, angered by the PLF adviser's manipulative words. He remembers the day that Mezo showed his face to his classmates and talked about his past and the origin of his scars, and that despite everything he suffered, he is determined to become the most extraordinary Hero that will inspire future generations to banish decades of prejudices. These memories of his friend's determination make Anima's horn begin to change.

Koji's spikes on his head grow bigger

"Don't you dare mock Shoji!"

Back to the fight between Tentacole and Spinner, the former shouts that he was also persecuted by his looks, and that the attacks on them will never be justified, but he says that there has to be another way. Spinner yells back that he doesn't care and orders to destroy it all down. As he begins to transform his right arm, Tentacole tells him to think about how he channels their rage, as their argument and battle catches the attention of several soldier of the army.

The PLF adviser badmouths Tentacole, assuring that his proclamations are just naive delusions born from the pathetic cry of his ego. Suddenly a huge flock of birds and insects appear behind him, all commanded by Anima, who demands him not to mock his friend, as he starts to go though a transformation, while a large horn begins to grow from his head, empowering his Quirk.

Tentacole transforms his right arm further, and in response to Spinner calling him gross, he replies it's who he is.[4] Present Mic observes his two students fighting, thinking to himself that they are already much stronger than he, Shota, and Oboro were at that age.

Octospansion and Hitchcock Birds

Tentacole and Anima unleash their Ultimate Moves.

Anima's new horn allows him to control a larger number of animals from a far greater radius, unleashing his Ultimate Move Hitchcock Birds to shove the PLF adviser off the building he was on. At the same time, Tentacole unleashes Octospansion, crashing through Spinner's makeship sword and seriously swiping the hulking mutant in the stomach, even though his jagged Scalemail Quirk. Mic also helps him with his Voice attack.

Remembering Yuga's plight, Tentacole asks Spinner and the rest of the mutants about the people they want to protect since they all have strong Quirks, reiterating that this attack will cause all future mutants to be persecuted, asking them to stop and be better than avengers. That's when Spinner retorts that nothing will change if the heroes win. When they are hit, they must hit back, commanding his comrades to follow him.

Spinner propels himself from a building toward the Central Hospital. Held up by Anima's birds, Tentacle is shocked that Spinner has gotten even stronger despite the blow, to the point of cracking the concrete with his momentum. His followers hesitate for a moment, but then shout in agreement and follow their leader. The policemen notice that they are more fired up and seem to deem it necessary to use firearms.

Spinner breaks into Central Hospital

Bursting into the Hospital.

Spinner smashes through the walls of the entrance hall, tailed by several mutants. He remembers All For One saying that Kurogiri must be in the research wing, and once he reaches him, to play a recording of either his or Tomura's voice, so that they may use his Quirk to end the war.

Spinner continues to barrel forward, however some of the heteromorphs following him find themselves hesitating upon seeing the mutant and non-mutant doctors and nurses in the hospital joining hands to block the way to the inpatient ward, determined not to allow the lives of patients to be put at risk. Seeing the hospital staff standing guard and remembering Tentacole's words about the innocents causes the rioters stop dead in their tracks, dropping their weapons to the floor.

Spinner and Mic call out to Kurogiri and Oboro

Spinner and Present Mic call out to Kurogiri and Oboro.

Not realizing this, Spinner keeps moving forward, thinking about how he always thought he was a nobody, but if he manages to rescue Kurogiri to help Tomura, he will become "someone", eager to show his friend how many people follow him now. But when he turns around, he finds no one else is there. Present Mic arrives in the hallway, saying that Tentacole's speech has reached his followers, and that "he" won't be their ace in the hole. Approaching the tied up villain, Spinner and Mic each call out to Kurogiri and Oboro respectively.[2]

As Mic goes after Spinner, Tentacole and Anima continue to try to hold off the rioters on the streets, preventing more of them from entering the hospital. One of the rampaging heteromorphs is about to strike Tentacole from behind, but suddenly one of his fellow members who had entered the hospital holds his weapon, causing most of the fighting to stop as everyone looks on in surprise.

Holding off the rampaging heteromorphs.

As those who had followed Spinner leave the hospital without the strength to continue fighting, the pig-faced mutant who saved Tentacole says that maybe they are using their anger in the wrong way. The Mutant preacher held down by Anima calls out to them not to stop and to keep following their spokesman, reminding them how the system mistreats them.

The pig-faced mutant replies he suffered from discrimination multiple times and that just thinking about it makes his blood boil. He admits he got real pumped up when he heard the "call to action" to turn the world upside down in retaliation for what they had suffered, but he still can't understand the idea that the whole world is his enemy, and that there are people he doesn't want to hurt, like those in the hospital.

The uprising is over

No one wants to continue this cycle of violence.

Cursing out Tentacole for having managed to calm the spirits of their heteromorph followers, ruining their plans, the PLF adviser calls out to them not to stop and think. Other members of the Paranormal Liberation Front also begin to call their followers out, yelling at them to keep moving forward, but the mutant rioters slowly give up the fight, some even help stop their mates, and some heroes apologize to them for not realizing their struggles.

Realizing that the violent fervor of the rioters has died down, Rock Lock calls out for reinforcements to move toward the hospital.

Present Mic knocks down Spinner

Present Mic blasts Spinner with a Voice attack.

Meanwhile, in the research wing, Spinner prepares to activate Kurogiri with the device that contains the vocal recordings, but Present Mic bowls Spinner over with his Voice Quirk, knocking him down for the count, additionally destroying the device. Mic worries about what to do to stop Kurogiri's release, noting that he hasn't reacted at all since that day, and wondering if he's already broken.

Lying defeated on the ground, with his body returned to normal size, Spinner starts reflecting that he has no strength left, his mind is going blank, his only means of controlling Kurogiri is gone, and none of his followers are backing him up. Spinner seems to understand that he failed to wake up Kurogiri at the last moment. He realizes that the passion got him worked up to take a stand, but in actuality, all he wanted was to help Tomura to achieve his goals.

That's when he sees that there's something else on the ground besides the broken device: the remaining charred-black hand of Tomura's that he was holding onto.

Spinner puts the hand on Kurogiriā€™s face

With the last of his strength, Spinner manages to wake up Kurogiri.

With Spinner grounded, Present Mic rushes toward Kurogiri, thinking about Oboro and telling him that their friend has lost an eye and a leg, which is why they can't lose their good memories of him. Present Mic thinks that if Oboro was not going to turn back into his past self, the best thing is for him to disappear and stay as a good memory, as he prepares to finish him off for good.

Before he can perform such unpleasant duty, Spinner manages to summon up enough strength to seize the hand and stand up. While remembering all his moments with Tomura, he pushes the hand onto Kurogiri's face, begging him to save Tomura. Spinner passes out after this, but his last effort has the desired result.

To Present Mic's shock, "Kurogiri" breaks free from his restraints and holds Tomura's hand with his mist. With some of Oboro's features visible on his face, he declares to Present Mic that he is "the protector of Tomura Shigaraki".[5]

Aftermath[]

Kurogiri appears at the U.A

Kurogiri appears behind Shota's team.

Because he foresaw that the heroes would keep Kurogiri in the dark, All For One installed a micro-device in the remaining stuff hand of Nana Shimura to make sure Kurogiri would know exactly what to do once he woke up.

Knowing the locations of Tomura's allies, "Kurogiri" uses his Warp Gate Quirk to relocate Tomura's allies to different places. Dabi, who was facing his brother in Kamino, is immediately sent to the Gunga Mountain to confront Endeavor, who had been fighting All For One. He also goes to Okuto Aquarium where Himiko Toga is, right after she had transformed into Twice, also bringing her to Gunga.

On his part, "Kurogiri" teleports to the U.A. Fortress to help Tomura, appearing right behind Shota's team, who were preventing Tomura from using all of his powers due to his Erasure Quirk. Shota is shocked by the sudden appearance of "Kurogiri", bringing Present Mic with him,[7] accompanied by a swarm of Twice Doubles that overwhelm the Heroes enough to disable Erasure.[8]

Meanwhile, amidst the chaos outside Central Hospital, and the sudden intense storm brewing as a result of the heavy fighting, the Hospital staff rushed to escort all the injured inside to be treated, friend and foe alike. During this time, Lady Nagant emerged from her bed, insisting on helping despite her injuries and convict status. Rock Lock appears to vouch for her, handing her all the current information about the battles, putting his trust in her for Izuku's sake.[9]
