Masaru Bakugo (ēˆ† (恰恏) č±Ŗ (恔恆) 勝 (ć¾ć•ć‚‹) Bakugō Masaru?) is Katsuki Bakugo's father and the husband of Mitsuki Bakugo.

Appearance[]

Masaru is a middle-aged man of average height and build who has short brown hair similar in style to his wife and son, a short mustache, and rectangular glasses.

Gallery[]

Personality[]

Compared to his hotheaded wife and son, Masaru is more of a calm person who is less prone to violence. He had shown himself unsettled by their bickering while Katsukiā€™s teachers were present in their home.

However, he clearly loves his family very much and gets along well with his wife, as he, too, does not approve of his son's arrogant attitude.

History[]

At some point, he met Mitsuki at a job, and she aggressively hit on him, which led to a relationship that progressed to them getting married. Sometime later, Masaru became the father of their son, Katsuki.

Synopsis[]

Hideout Raid Arc[]

Masaru tries to calm his arguing family down when Toshinori Yagi and Shota Aizawa arrive. After calming down, Mitsuki notes that Katsuki's rashness, along with his gifted abilities, has resulted in him being pampered and getting shallow praise for what he has, which has resulted in his arrogant nature. However, Mitsuki is happy that Shota sees her son for who he is instead of his gifted abilities. She once again agrees to leave Katsuki in U.A. High School's care since her son returned home unharmed thanks to the Pro Heroes and asks Shota to make her son into a fine hero.[2]

U.A. Traitor Arc[]

Class 1-A say goodbye to UA evacuees

Katsuki saying goodbye to his parents.

In the aftermath of the Paranormal Liberation War, the Bakugo's are among the civilians escorted to U.A. to reside for safety. After about a month, the Heroes begin their plan to take on the Villains, leading the students of Class 1-A to give their thanks to everyone, with them already heading back out. The students say their goodbyes to everyone, with Katsuki saying goodbye to his family members, though Mitsuki was very persistent over his cocky attitude, much to his annoyance.[3]

Final War Arc[]

As the fighting in the Final War commenced, Masaru and his wife continued to stay at the evacuation shelter. Mitsuki notices that the cumulonimbus storm has started growing over Japan and continues to expand, combined with the tropical typhoon that is beginning to pick up massive wind speeds. She comments how much Katsuki does not like the rain, wondering what he will do next, unaware of their son's near demise at the hands of Tomura Shigaraki.[4] Luckily, Katsuki survived and proceeded to battle All For One, with the fight being broadcast all over the world. Mitsuki points out the battle on the screen, and Masaru is too afraid to see, turning away, but Mitsuki tells him they have to watch the fight for their son's sake, because their kid must be out there grinning like he always does.[5] They watch in awe as Katsuki manages to hold his own against the Villain, standing up to the might of his ultimate attack with his own Explosions, and successfully defeating him.[6] Masura and his wife were also watching the live broadcast of the final battle between Izuku and Tomura.[7] Eventually, Izuku and the Heroes managed to succeed in defeating Tomura once and for all, as his body disintegrates into ashes.[8]

One week after the end of the Final War, the restoration efforts that were stalled after the Jaku Hospital Raid have picked back up at a breakneck pace, as Heroes from around the world arrived to provide support and resources in rescue and rebuilding Japan. Masura and his wife went to check on Katsuki who was hospitalized and treated for his severe injuries he received. They received bad news about his condition from the doctor. He tells them that Katsuki's body won't ever go back to normal, with his right arm completely stitched up but mingled from his fight with Tomura and All For One, and the surgery won't get better than that. They were able to join and set together a large amount of bone fragments, but they can't guarantee rehabilitation will give him back use of his right arm. He recommends Katsuki to have prosthetics like what Mirko got if he wants to be a hero, but Katsuki declines, since his Quirk comes from the palms, and thinks about how Izuku never had one. He shouts to bring on the rehab, but the doctor says he must only do low-level exercises, reminding him that he died if it wasn't for Edgeshot suturing and restarting his heart, but he has no idea how Katsuki managed to keep fighting, or why he travelled so many kilometers right afterward, telling him he was given a second shot at life and heeded the call, so for now to focus on rest.

Despite being told to rest, Katsuki ends up disobeying and goes to check on Izuku and All Might, despite his parents yelling at him for moving. He barges into the room just to hear that Izuku lost One For All and now he has only the lingering embers, causing him to realize that Izuku's going to be Quirkless in the future despite Izuku's reassurance. Katsuki begins to cry, much to Izuku's flabbergasting shock.[9]

Abilities[]

Quirk[]

Acid Sweat (é…ø (恕悓) 化 (恋) ę±— (恋悓) Sanka Kan?): Masaru's Quirk allows him to secrete acidic sweat with combustive properties from the palms of his hands. Unlike his son, however, he cannot forcibly secrete it, and it comes out like normal sweat. If he rubs his hands together, then he can create explosions.[1]
