Ribby (ć‚¢ćƒćƒ© Abara?) was one of Doctor Kyudai Garaki's intelligent High-End Nomu that he kept in his lab under Jaku General Hospital. He and his kin act as some of the secondary antagonists of the Paranormal Liberation War Arc.

Appearance[]

Ribby possesses a humanoid appearance, like nearly all the other Nomu, though also features a long antennae-like head, which has the capacity to extend to greater lengths. However, unlike other Nomu, his body is noticeably shriveled and underweight, with little physical muscle compared to other High Ends. His ribs protrude out from the inside of his chest, hence his name.

Personality[]

Being originated from the body of a killer, Ribby acts incredibly unhinged with his immediate desire to kill the heroes once being awoken. He also possesses some semblance of intelligence, as he is able to recognize and understand his environment and opponents, and uses that to his advantage.

Synopsis[]

History[]

Before being turned into a High-End Nomu, Ribby was once a psychotic serial killer. He was carefully selected by Doctor Garaki to be made into a Nomu for this reason.[1]

Paranormal Liberation War Arc[]

As the heroes start their raid on Jaku Hospital, Doctor Garaki prepares to use Johnny's Quirk to warp himself and Tomura Shigaraki to safety. Before he can, however, Mirko bursts inside his lab, inadvertently killing Johnny in the process.

The now trapped Doctor releases five High-End Nomu, one of them being Ribby, in an effort to push Mirko back as he tends to Tomura. Ribby, under the impromptu leadership of Woman, proceeds to attack the Hero.[2] However, due to being released early without stabilization time, they are easily pushed back by Mirko.

Eventually throughout the battle, as the stabilization kicks in and the High-Ends become more comfortable with their bodies, they are able to much more freely defend themselves and attack Mirko. Knowing this, she proceeds to try and escape and head toward the Doctor and Tomura's location, but Ribby uses his antennae to quickly extend itself far along, catching up and grabbing ahold of Mirko before she can destroy Tomura's capsule.

He makes his way over there to stop her, but is surprised by Endeavor who slams down right on his head, allowing Mirko to break free and destroy the capsule. Eraser Head arrives and uses his Quirk on some of the High-Ends, including Ribby, so that they will be much easier to destroy, however having figured out Eraser Head's trick, Woman distracts him long enough for Ribby to take advantage and once again use his antennae to pierce through Mirko, cutting through her chest and legs and cutting off her ear, pulling her back before she is rescued by Endeavor.

Ribby continued to battle against the heroes until the rest of the hospital and lab were being destroyed by the newly awakened Tomura Shigaraki's Decay, resulting in many of the Pro Heroes and the rest of the High-Ends being destroyed. In one last gambit, Ribby manages to grab ahold of a fleeing Eraser Head, threatening to spread the Decay to him, but Crust uses his Shield to cut Ribbys' arm, sacrificing himself alongside Ribby.[3]

Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: Like other Nomu, he was shown to be decently powerful. Possessing the ability to contend against top pro heroes like Endeavor and Mirko and even survive a combined assault from several Pro Heroes for an extended period of time without his Quirks. His antennae Quirk was shown to have enough power to pierce through Mirko's body.

  • Enhanced Strength: Like other High Ends, Ribby was shown to possess a high degree of physical strength. Even after suffering numerous injuries and having his Quirks erased, he easily crushed Eraser Head's leg.
  • Enhanced Speed: Ribby possessed enough speed to keep up with Mirko's movements. He effectively follows her moves to attack her and interrupt her from reaching Tomura. He even displayed quick enough reflexes to defend against a surprise Jet Burn from Endeavor.

Quirks[]

Super Regeneration (č¶…å†ē”Ÿ Chōsaisei?): Like all High-End Nomu, Ribby possessed this Quirk, which gave him the ability to regenerate from any damage he took.

Unnamed Antennae Quirk: Allowed Ribby to extend the antennae on his head to a significant length, allowing him to grab ahold of and directly pierce through objects and opponents.

Unnamed Rib Cage Quirk: Allowed Ribby to use his rib cage in a variety of purposes and shapes, such as attacking and defense.
