The attack on Harrikos Fifteen was an engagement between New Republic Intelligence and the Galactic Empire in the Harrikos system at the Harrikos-Fifteen Research Station. New Republic Intelligence Officer Caern Adan believed that the attack on the Hellion's Dare was linked to an elite Imperial fighter wing, the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing, also known as Shadow Wing. To find where the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate was in the Oridal Cluster, Adan sought to find a forward base to locate and extract the frigate. The Republic pilots initially tried to trick the Imperials, but were forced to open fire and board the research station.[1]
Prelude[]
New Republic Intelligence Officer Caern Adan believed that the recent disappearance of the Hellion's Dare was a cause of Shadow Wing. The New Republic needed a station from which to conduct search and extraction of the frigate in the Oridol Cluster. Adan believed that seizing the Harrikos-Fifteen Research Station was a perfect opportunity for this, as it would allow them to utilize the science station's facilities.[1]
The attack[]
The New Republic's plan involved deceiving the station's hangar crew into allowing Yrica Quell to land with her X-wing starfighter and secure it. Then, the marines on the Buried Treasure would board the station and seize control of it. As the squadron emerged from hyperspace, Quell asked for permission to land using Galactic Imperial access codes, claiming she had stolen the X-wing after her squadron had been destroyed. The request was denied by an automated machine, and Nath Tensent improvised by pretending to shoot her down as a hostage. A crew member came on the radio and again denied her request to land, but the station's laser turrets fired at Tensent instead of her. Quell flew down onto the landing strip and opened fire with her laser cannons. Simultaneously, Tensent made several bombing runs on the station. The Buried Treasure landed and secured the station after two hours.[1]
Aftermath[]
Despite their victory, New Republic Intelligence was not able to locate the Hellion's Dare due to it being destroyed by Shadow Wing. However, two pilots, Chass na Chadic and Wyl Lark, survived the defeat and were able to escape to the station. There, they notified the Republic Intelligence of their story. Both pilots would eventually join the new Alphabet Squadron.[1]
