- "My brothers died on a rebel raid with the 181st that never should have happened. I blame the Imperial senator who pushed for that doomed mission just as much as I blame the rebels who fired the torpedoes."
- ―Havina Vonreg
Sometime before the Dissolution of the Imperial Senate[1] in 0 BBY,[2] a senator of the Imperial Senate pushed for the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing of the Galactic Empire's Starfighter Corps, to launch a raid on the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The mission ended up disastrous, with the wing losing at least two men.[1] This fate applied to half of TIE pilot Havina Vonreg's family including her younger brother Hedrian. Although not killed by a spread of Alliance torpedoes, Hedrian made it back to his hangar and passed away.[3]
Vonreg held the senator accountable for her siblings' deaths just as much she did the rebels.[1] In 4 ABY,[4] she compared the similarity of the raid with an incident in the Nuvar system regarding casualty causes to Shen, a member of her own starfighter unit, Titan Squadron.[3] Vonreg[1] later[4] mentioned the mission to another member of her squadron.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The raid was first mentioned in the 2020 video game Star Wars: Squadrons, developed by Motive Studios.[1]
