"Took me more time, effort, and mileage than I'd hoped to finally get my hands on a loralora, but there's no doubt that these fragrant, sweet-glazed wings were worth the wait."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

Aromatic Loralora Wings were the wings of a loralora bird made into a fragrant and sweet-glazed dish. After failing to purchase a loralora bird on the planet Batuu in 34 ABY, the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs visited the birds' homeworld, Ketz, during a culinary tour of the galaxy and declared that the wings had been worth the additional effort, including a recipe for the dish in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, in 35 ABY.

Description[]

"One of the animals in her menagerie happened to be a loralora bird, an avian species that I'd always heard was particularly succulent."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

Aromatic Loralora Wings were a type of fragrant, sweet-glazed wings made using the limbs of the loralora bird from the Colonies jungle moon Ketz. The wings were white meat while the glaze was brown, with a sliced, green garnish scattered over the top. They were edible to members of the Artiodac species.[1]

History[]

"But before I could buy it to find out, the bird's cage got opened in some sorta street-side scuffle and it flew off to freedom. (Guess the little guy was lucky.) Fortunately, I managed to convince Bina to tell me where I could find more of 'em."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]
Creature Stall TGTB

Strono Tuggs failed to buy a loralora bird at the Creature Stall (pictured), but tracked them down elsewhere to make Aromatic Loralora Wings.

Having heard that loralora birds were particularly succulent, the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs intended to purchase one such bird being sold at the Creature Stall[1] in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.[2] However, before he got the chance, the bird was freed from its cage[1] by the local Julen Rakab as part of a distraction and escaped[2] in 34 ABY.[3]

Tuggs then convinced the stall's owner, Bina, to tell him where he could find more of the birds and then made sure to include Ketz on a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took after publishing[1] his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook.[4] Despite the amount of time, effort, and mileage it had taken him to taste a loralora bird, Tuggs believed the wings were worth the wait and included a recipe for them in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook,[1] which was published in 35 ABY.[5]

Behind the scenes[]

Aromatic Loralora Wings were created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the wings makes use of chicken wings, baking soda, vegetable oil, minced garlic cloves, minced ginger, tamari, mirin, honey, sesame oil, black pepper, and diced green onions.[1]

  5. Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
