"It was a close call, but Kiffu won my little taste test by the slightest of margins, and only because of a delightful drink that accompanied my meal. Made with sugary, berry-infused syrup, it honestly wasn't all that different from the fruit fizz found in cantinas across the galaxy."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

Kiffu Fruit Fizz was a sparkling fruit beverage that was sugary and berry-infused. It was served on the planet Kiffu and, during a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took between 34 ABY and 35 ABY, the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs tried the beverage there. Based on the drink, Tuggs declared Kiffu's Kiffar cuisine superior to that of its twin world, Kiffex, and later included a recipe for the beverage in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook.

Description[]

"Look, no one ever wants to have to admit which sibling is their favorite, but if you find yourself havin' to pick between the twin worlds of Kiffu and Kiffex, I'm certain the choice'll get clearer and clearer with each sparklin' sip."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]

Kiffu Fruit Fizz was a sugary, berry-infused, sparkling fruit beverage that was served on the Inner Rim planet Kiffu. The drink was opaque white in color, fading to pink at its base and was served in a glass with ice and a garnish of green leaves.[1]

History[]

"Kiffu and Kiffex are a pair of Inner Rim planets with nearly identical terrestrial features and cultures. Seein' how similar they are, I decided to make landfall on each of 'em in order to find out which world served the best traditional Kiffar cuisine."
―Strono Tuggs, The Ultimate Cookbook[1]
Kiffex and Kiffu FFG

Kiffu Fruit Fizz won Strono Tuggs' contest between the twin worlds Kiffu and Kiffex for best Kiffar cuisine.

During a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took[1] between 34 ABY and 35 ABY,[2] the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs visited Kiffu and its twin world Kiffex, holding a taste test between the two to find out which served the best traditional Kiffar cuisine. After being served Kiffu Fruit Fizz with his meal on Kiffu, he declared it the winner by a margin as the drink was better than the lukewarm bantha milk he was served on Kiffex.[1]

Tuggs then included a recipe for the fizz in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which was published[1] in 35 ABY.[2] He called the drink delightful in the book but admitted that it was not much different from similar fizzy fruit drinks served in cantinas across the galaxy.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Kiffu Fruit Fizz was created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the beverage makes use of hulled strawberries, water, granulated sugar, lychee, ice, and sparkling water, with a garnish of mint and more lychee.[1]

  2. 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook establishes that the publishing of the in-universe The Ultimate Cookbook and the culinary tour that preceded it occurred following the publishing of The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook and prior to the destruction of Kijimi. It also establishes that The Ultimate Cookbook was published following the Festival of the Ancestors that occurred during that time period. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook further establishes that The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook was published concurrently with the First Order's search for the Resistance base on Batuu, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. In addition, Timelines dates the Festival of the Ancestors and the destruction of Kijimi to 35 ABY, meaning the tour must have taken place between 34 ABY and 35 ABY and The Ultimate Cookbook must have been published in 35 ABY.
