That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ｢転生したらスライムだった件, tensei shitara suraimu datta ken｣ is a light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah.
Fuse originally began the series as a web novel hosted on Shōsetsuka ni Narō between February 2013 and January 2016. The series was acquired for print publication by Micro Magazine, who published the first light novel, with illustrations by Mitz Vah, under their GC Novels imprint in May 2014. Yen Press licensed the light novel series, publishing it in English under their Yen On imprint.[1] The first volume released on December 19, 2017.

On August, 2021, it was announced that three Spin-offs volume would be released at the same time at September 15, 2021,[2][3][4] starting the release of the Kids Version. Just a month later a new volume was released to the public on October 15, 2021 with two more volumes being released on the same date in the two following months.[5][6][7]

The light novel series has over 4.5 million volumes in print and was the fifth best-selling title of 2018 with 539,277 copies sold.[8] A campaign was held to commemorate the cumulative total of 20 million copies of the series in 2020.[9] The circulation for the series has exceeded 25 million copies in 2021. On November 30, 2021, the series was reported to have sold more than 27 million copies total for the entire series.[10]
The novel ranked eighth in 2017 in Takarajimasha's annual light novel guide book Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!, in the tankōbon category.[11] It ranked sixth in 2018[12] and fifth in 2019.[13]
