"Five-blossom-bread, my specialty."
―Padmé Amidala, to Anakin Skywalker[2]

Five-blossom bread was a kind of bread from the Mid Rim planet Naboo that could be consumed by humans[4] and Artiodacs.[1] During her childhood, Senator Padmé Amidala used to make the bread, and felt it a speciality of hers. During the Clone Wars, the senator was given some of this bread by a Naboo ambassador. She saved it for a special occasion and offered it when her husband Anakin Skywalker visited her in her apartment.[2] Saché, one of Amidala's handmaidens, considered five-blossom bread to be one of her favorites.[4]

At some point after the Battle of Takodana[1] in 34 ABY[5] the chef Strono Tuggs included a recipe for five-blossom bread in his cookbook, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, and began serving it in his restaurant, Tuggs' Grub while it was on the Outer Rim planet Batuu.[1] On Batuu, it was served at Oga's Cantina in the settlement Black Spire Outpost. At the cantina it was served with Mustard Cream, or Spicy Cheese Sauce.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Five-blossom bread was first mentioned in The Clone Wars television series episode "Senate Spy," the fourth installment of its second season[2] that aired on October 16, 2009.[6] The bread first appeared in Queen's Shadow, a 2019 novel written by E. K. Johnston.[4] Five-blossom bread was first pictured in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, a recipe book released the same year that was authored by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak.[1]

In 2022, five-blossom bread began being served at the real-world restaurant Oga's Cantina in the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. There, the bread was first described as a "Warm Pretzel Knot with Hawaiian Black Sea Salt served with Honey-Mustard Cream Foam and Calabrian Cheese Sauce."[7][8] Some time in early 2023, the recipe and name of the bread changed at Disneyland. Its new name was Garlic-Cheese Five Blossom Bread with Spicy Cheese Sauce, and its new description read "Warm Garlic Parmesan Pretzel Knot and Chile de Arbol Cheese Sauce."[7]
