Chibi Ghidorah (ちびギドラ Chibi Gidora^?) is a young dragon kaiju and a character of the Chibi Godzilla children's series, who first appeared in the 2018 children's book Do Your Best, Chibi Godzilla. Chibi Ghidorah is a child version of Ghidorah who is a friend of Chibi Godzilla and other kaiju.

Name[]

Chibi Ghidorah's name comes from "chibi" (ちび^?), which is Japanese for "small" or "little", and Ghidorah. In Japanese popular culture, "Chibi" describes child-sized characters with exaggerated and cute appearances to appeal to younger audiences, denoting this Ghidorah being intended for children. His full name is "Chibi King Ghidorah" (ちびキングギドラ, Chibi Kingu Gidora^?), but is primarily referred to by the contracted name.

Appearance[]

Chibi Ghidorah's design is simplified from his traditional kaiju self, being a golden dragon kaiju with three heads and large wings.

Personality[]

All three of Ghidorah's heads have a different personality - the right head is the most aggressive, shown when he threatened to shoot Chibi Mechagodzilla with a gravity beam and wack him. The middle head is a happy, friendly person who enjoys having new friends, even giving Chibi Mechagodzilla a nickname when they first met. Finally, the left head seems friendly but has a darker side, knowing that friends can be made into easy money in a pinch. They often bicker with each other, but they enjoy singing together.

History[]

Chibi Godzilla Raids Again[]

The Three-Headed Scary God, Chibi Ghidorah[]

As Chibi Godzilla was touring Chibi Mechagodzilla around Monster Island, the two encountered Chibi Ghidorah. Mechagodzilla wanted to befriend Chibi Ghidorah, with each head having a different response. The middle head said yes, giving Chibi Mechagodzilla the nickname Mego-yan. The right head said no, as Chibi Mechagodzilla pissed this head off. The right head then threatened Chibi Mechagodzilla with a gravity beam. Finally, the left head said yes as he could use Chibi Mechagodzilla as a way to get money. The three heads then each gave Chibi Mechagodzilla different recommendations to look for on Monster Island. The middle said scenery, the right once again threatened Chibi Mechagodzilla with violence and the left suggested matsutake mushrooms. Chibi Ghidorah would then explain to Chibi Mechagodzilla that they constantly argued about eating food as they didn't want to gain weight over what the other heads ate. Eventually Chibi Godzilla spotted a mushroom, causing the three heads to begin biting each other, knocking themselves to the ground. Eventually they spotted two more mushrooms, still missing one for their new friend, Chibi Mechagodzilla.

Monster Study Session[]

Chibi Ghidorah would join Chibi Mechagodzilla, Chibi Mothra and Chibi Rodan in the study session led by Chibi Godzilla. The first question Chibi Godzilla asked was what foe was the hardest for Godzilla to defeat, with Chibi Ghidorah believing the answer was guilt, though the true correct answer was sunlight in the summer. The next question was what felt the best to destroy, with Chibi Ghidorah answering that a new building was the best, though he was once again incorrect, the answer being prefabricated houses. The final question was what made Godzilla want to go home the most. Chibi Ghidorah answered again, saying it would be if there was curry for dinner, not knowing the answer was actually when Godzilla pops out of the water the wrong way.

All Chibi Monsters Attack[]

Chibi Ghidorah joined Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Anguirus in destroying Mechagodzilla's model city to the dismay of Chibi Mechagodzilla. Ghidorah would explain to Chibi Mechagodzilla that Godzilla's destructive urges would sometimes make his face realistic. Once Chibi Mechagodzilla left the room after believing the trio would stop destroying the model city, Chibi Godzilla would go back to destroying it. Chibi Ghidorah was originally against this but after being convinced by Chibi Godzilla, he would continue the destruction just as Chibi Mechagodzilla entered the room. Chibi Mechagodzilla used his eye beams to knock Ghidorah to the ground before telling the trio to make sure they clean up.

Chibi Godzilla's Second Form[]

Chibi Ghidorah and Chibi Mothra would be shocked seeing Chibi Godzilla in his second form, both instantly realizing he had sprained his neck during his sleep. The two tried to figure out ideas to help, with Ghidorah watching as Chibi Godzilla began stretching his neck as Mothra suggested. Chibi Ghidorah knew Chibi Godzilla was getting better as his affinity for slugs died down, though he was angered when Godzilla still cared about slugs.

The War at Low Tide[]

Chibi Ghidorah would join Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Rodan in clam digging just as Chibi Hedorah arrived. Chibi Hedorah explained he was there to clean the beach and also explained how the humans had caused all of the pollution. Chibi Ghidorah would then decide to help Chibi Hedorah on his beach cleaning.

A Mighty Monster's Instincts[]

Chibi Ghidorah would see as Chibi Godzilla would begin firing his heat ray or letting out a Godzilla roar while sneezing. This led Ghidorah, as well as Chibi Mechagodzilla, Chibi Mothra and Chibi Rodan, to believe Chibi Godzilla was going through a vocal transformation. Later in the day, Chibi Ghidorah got a letter from Chibi Godzilla that read out that Chibi Godzilla had embarked on a voyage. As Chibi Mechagodzilla was saddened by Chibi Godzilla going away, Chibi Ghidorah comforted him, saying Chibi Godzilla could appear at any second, only for Chibi Godzilla to appear right then and there.

Durability[]

Chibi Ghidorah was able to survive Chibi Mechagodzilla's eye beams and their own bites, though they were injured both times.

Jaws[]

All three of Ghidorah's jaws can be used to bite down on targets, usually being their other heads.

Gravity beams[]

Ghidorah can fire lightning-like beams called gravity beams from their mouths.

Flight[]

With his wings, Ghidorah is capable of flight.

Chibi Ghidorah's voice is provided by Saori Takamiya in the web series and Takuya Eguchi in the anime.
The right and left heads of the Ghidorah share the same personalities as MonsterVerse Ghidorah.
