Monster X (モンスターエックス Monsutā Ekkusu?), also known as Keizer Ghidorah (カイザーギドラ Kaizā Gidora?) is an extraterrestrial dragon kaiju and is the main antagonist of the final issue of IDW's 2016 comic series Godzilla: Rage Across Time.
Name[]
It is possible that Monster X's name is a reference to "Monster Zero," an alias for King Ghidorah. The "X" in his name could come from the Xiliens' Japanese name, the "X Aliens."
Keizer Ghidorah's name comes from the German word "kaiser," meaning emperor, and "Ghidorah," coming from the immediate name of King Ghidorah's species.

Appearance[]
Monster X[]
Monster X retains all of his major traits from his original design, being a bipedal skeletal figure with long-forked tails, two half-skulls on his shoulders with red eyes. The only difference between this version and the original is that Monster X's lower jaw in Rage Across Time is fully skeletal.
Keizer Ghidorah[]
Like his skeletal form, Keizer Ghidorah's design remains largely unchanged, being an extremely bulky quadrupedal creature with three heads, two tails and large wings. The only difference is that Keizer Ghidorah seems to lack the bluish stripes the original had. The wings also appear to be slightly larger.
Roar[]
Keizer Ghidorah's roar is written out as "EEEEEEEEERRRRRR".
Personality[]
Monster X is an extremely destructive force, flying down from Earth and killing every living thing inside seemingly for no reason. He was also shown to be quite intelligent in battle, taking advantage of Godzilla being distracted by the Xilien UFOs to win the fight.
Origins[]
Keizer Ghidorah flew down from outer space during a kaiju brawl alongside a meteor shower.
History[]
Godzilla: Rage Across Time[]
As a large amount of kaiju were battling with each other, Keizer Ghidorah descended, firing at both Mothra and Battra, dowing the latter. As Keizer Ghidorah destroyed everything in site, Godzilla and Anguirus roared towards him. Keizer Ghidorah transformed into Monster X, firing his destroyed thunder at Godzilla before punching Anguirus in a volcano. Enraged, Godzilla tackled Monster X to the ground, biting off one of his horns. However Godzilla became distracted once he saw Xilien UFOs, allowing Monster X to grab Godzilla and throw him into a nearby volcano. Monster X then transformed back into Keizer Ghidorah and flew off.
Abilities[]
Antigravity beams/Destroyed thunder[]
Keizer Ghidorah's main form of attack is firing a lightning beam called antigravity beams. These beams are extremely powerful, with only a single hit downing Battra who was matching Mothra earlier. As Monster X, he fires whats killed destroyed thunder from his eyes rather than his mouth. Though only used once, they were shown causing Godzilla to roar in pain.
Durability[]
Monster X was shown to be able to tank getting tackled to the ground and having his horn bitten off by Godzilla.
Flight[]
Keizer Ghidorah is capable of flying from outer space back to Earth.
Physical strength[]
Monster X is a physically powerful being, able to send Anguirus flying with a single punch and lift up and throw Godzilla with ease.
Trivia[]
- Keizer Ghidorah's trademark appears on issue 4 of Rage Across Time, despite Godzilla being the only kaiju that appears. Interestingly, the trademark reads Keizer Ghidorah rather than Monster X. The trademark for Keizer on issue 5 also reads the more traditional Monster X.
