Godzilla is a reptilian daikaiju and the main antagonist of IDW Publishing's Godzilla: The Half-Century War.
Name[]
Godzilla's name within the comic series follows the convention of that of the Showa era Godzilla, being a transliteration of Gojira (ゴジラ?), a combination of two Japanese words: "gorira" (ゴリラ?), meaning gorilla, and "kujira" (鯨 or クジラ?), meaning whale.

This Godzilla seems to be based on the version that appeared in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus judging by the head and jagged dorsal plates, albeit possessing charcoal-black scales the character is frequently depicted with as opposed to the green coloration.
Personality[]
Like most incarnations, Godzilla seems to be largely animalistic and territorial, destroying those who challenge him or get in his way, a trait that also applies to terrestrial and extraterrestrial kaiju. However, he is capable of comprehending when an opponent is too much for him and can cooperate with others in order to take down the mutual threat.
