When credit is due, I do not hesitate to bestow it. I may not be here right now speaking to you over these airwaves were it not for the intervention of the Tourist. Our city's most famous freelancer. Now, I know that many of you have your opinion about the Tourist, as did I. Some consider them an avenging angel, setting this city on a righteous path. Others see them as a demon of doom, slithering from the shadows to claim souls for the dark lord himself. Whatever your thoughts may be, I can assure you that they are most likely exaggerated. The Tourist may be enigmatic, but they are still a human being. Just like the rest of us. But with one glance, I could tell in what matter the Tourist was exceptional: the brutal art of survival. During the lengthy conversation that I had with the Tourist before they alerted me to a host of unforeseen dangers, I was struck by the numerous battle scars on their face. Each one clearly representing a close call. The marks that identify a true warrior. Their hands were powerful and calloused, marred by countless scrapes with the dead. And yet they also seemed nimble enough to strike with precision in an instant. Now, I have a reputation among the fine folks of New Orleans to possess a fair amount of survivalist acumen myself. And in that toolbox, one quality that I pride myself on is my ability to size someone up in the first few seconds that I lay eyes on them. And let me tell you, New Orleans, the Tourist is undoubtedly a formidable force of pure ruthlessness when it comes to the matters of life and death. Not someone to be trifled with.
―JB describing the Tourist (Determinant)
”

The "Tourist" (real name unknown) is the protagonist in The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. An outsider of New Orleans, he/she is one of the few survivors who initially has no allegiance to the Tower, the Reclaimed, or the Exiles. Through Henri, word quickly spread of their exploits, a person well-known for their craftsmanship, a hardened survivalist with exceptional scavenging skills and almost unrivaled combat prowess. The news quickly overtook JB's broadcasts, the core radio station for most survivors inside New Orleans. This had led to incidents where many would attempt to use the Tourist's skillset to accomplish their own objectives or seek their aid to survive in the apocalypse. A person with unknown objectives and personality, equally empathetic as they are brutally opportunistic, the fate of New Orleans and its people lies directly on the Tourist's actions.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

Location Unknown[]

Nothing is known about the Tourist's life prior to or as the outbreak began.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Orleans Parish Bayou[]

At some point after the outbreak, the Tourist found themselves in the Bayou on the outskirts of New Orleans, They got their nickname for their tendancy to wander a lot, living a nomadic lifestyle. They gained a reputation and was well known in New Orleans by the time Saints and Sinners began. They befriended Henri after saving him from a group of walkers.

New Orleans, Louisiana[]

The Tourist's new friend Henri tells the Tourist the tale of the Reserve and they agree to team up at Henri's cemetery camp in New Orleans. When the Tourist arrives to Henri's camp, he finds him on his last breath as the old man gives him his old notebook.

The Tourist then got into contact with Casey on the radio, who tells the Tourist that he is currently trapped in the reserve, and makes a deal that they can have all the reserve supplies in exchange for helping free him. shortly after the Tourist meets with May Benoit, where the player can decide to kill her and take the reserve key, or do her tasks to earn it. If the player decides to spare May, she will send the player on several tasks gathering intel from the tower, while Casey gives the Tourist directions on where to find pump flow regulators, which they need to open the reserve. At one point Casey asks the Tourist to go to Rampart high school to find his friend Kenny, as its all hes been able to think about since being stuck in the reserve. The Tourist finds Kenny injured and in pain, who requests that they kill him out of mercy, and the player can decide to do so, or leave him. Eventually the Tourist gets the last pump flow regulator from JB, and upon leaving meets up with Georgia, who demands that they go back into the house to kill JB, and in exchange, will be on good terms with the tower from then on out. At this point the player can decide to kill JB, (if they hadn't already) warn JB, kill Georgia, kill both, or attempt to run without killing either. After that they gain the Reserve key from May, and installs the last pump flow regulator. Casey then attempts to open up the reserve, but doing so causes the entire church to light up, leading both the Tower and Reclaimed to swarm it. Casey instructs the Tourist that they have to get inside the church to open the reserve with a manual flow control. After an intense brawl getting to the church, the Tourist manages to get to the controller and hears Casey on the radio, who says that the pumps couldn't handle all the water, and begs the Tourist to send the pump flow into the armory so that he may live. The player can decide to either route the water to the comms room to kill Casey and get the reserve supplies, route the water to the armory to save Casey and forfeit the supplies, or flood the whole thing. Whichever one the player decides they end up in the church's main room, where they find May (assuming she hasn't been killed by the player prior) who is about to ring the bell, which will summon all Zombies here, killing everyone fighting for the reserve. If Casey is still alive at this point, he will hold his gun up to May, and ask the tourist to kill her, saying that he doesn't want to see another slaughter happen here, and he will kill her if the Tourist does not. There are many branching paths here, it can end with the bell being rang by May if Casey is killed, the bell not being rang if May is killed, or nothing happening if the player has already killed both of them, the Tourist can also ring the bell themself if they choose to. Afterwards the Tourist will travel into the reserve, where they can collect the supplies from the armory or comms room (depending on whichever choice they made at the flow control) and take a boat back to the graveyard.

Months after the Reserve, the Tourist becomes a contractor for many survivors such as Sonny and Father Carter. He also allies himself with the Exile Trade network.

Saints and Sinners: Retribution, TBA

Personality[]

Although the Tourist's voice lines are all chosen by the player, the tourist has a somewhat blunt personality. the Tourist is sometimes sarcastic, and may make snarky comments sometimes. Although they can also be sympathetic as well. They are very determined and will not hesitate to kill to achieve their goals. Despite all that though the Tourist is typically calm and rational, even if the Tourist talks to someone who wronged them that the player decides not to kill, the Tourist will always talk in a firm tone.
