“
You would have killed me! Do you even care? Would you have regretted it when Arnaud killed another one of your children, and then you realized it wasn't me?! It wasn't me! Or would my memory be lost? My name erased? We don't have to live like this. We don't have to be like this! We decide who we are. There's still life out there, there's still hope. You will see. If you let yourselves.

Davon is a main character and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's Tales of the Walking Dead. He is the protagonist of the episode "Davon".

Overview[]

Davon is a kind, humble, and good-hearted man. After being rescued by Nora and Amanda, he quickly become accustomed to their ways and his kindness makes him well-liked amongst the family. He quickly becomes close to Nora with the two eventually entering a relationship.

In contrast to Amanda who believes that "murder is mercy", Davon is shown to be against killing, believing that if you are going to choose yourself, you should at least be worth saving. At one point, he encountered a hostile survivor but refused to shoot him, which allowed the survivor to shoot Davon in the leg which caused him to lose it. Amanda points out that if Davon had shot him, he'd still have his leg, but Davon is still adamant on not killing.

However, Davon eventually finds out that Amanda had supposedly been killing the town's children, including her own nephew Garen. Davon manages to save Garen, but accidentally kills Amanda in the process, leading him to be framed as Amanda's killer along with the rest of the town's children. Davon ends up being sentenced to death, including by Nora, the woman he used to love.

Eventually Davon manages to prove his innocence by eventually figuring out that Arnaud was the true killer and exposing him to the town. Despite what Arnaud had done, Davon still holds his belief of not killing and tries to convince the town's people to spare Arnaud. However, the townspeople do not listen and brutally kill Arnaud anyway, leaving Davon disgusted and appalled by their actions.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

Location Unknown[]

Nothing is known about Davon's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that he was a college graduate.

Post-Apocalypse[]

Maine[]

At some point during the outbreak, Davon decided to venture to Montreal, Quebec in Canada. While near the Canada-United States border in Maine, Davon encountered a hostile survivor who shot him in the leg after his cowardice prevented him from defending himself against the assailant.

Trivia[]

  • Davon notably possesses a mysterious keycard reading "PPP". This same card was found by Tara Chambler in "Swear" after Heath was kidnapped by the Scavengers and traded to the Civic Republic Military.
  • Davon is the second Tales character to suffer an amputation. In his case, it's his left leg. The first being Amy.
    • It is also ironic how Davon is missing a leg and is unable to run fast, because Jessie T. Usher also portrays A-Train from The Boys, who has superhuman speed.
  • When asked about Davon's journey and the significance of Montreal as his destination, Jessie T. Usher states "He's sort of a hopeless romantic. He's wandering, and that just made sense for this character. I spoke to Michael and Channing about it and why is it he's chosen Montreal to go to. It's just the fantasy of what Montreal was before the apocalypse is sort of drawing to him. It's the idea that this world sort of seems like it's preserved. That would stand out to this character because of what he lost. He doesn't want the apocalyptic new world that he's in. He wants what he had, and whatever version of that is out there is sort of always what he's going to be looking for. Him not having it was a lot of the backstory work that I was putting in to sort of drive this character."[1]
