"This isn't Marchion Ro's ship. It's mine. You may be his second favorite scientist, but don't forget—he likes your boss more. If something unfortunate happened to you, he would still have Boolan."
"Are you threatening me, I'nah?"
"If it makes you feel better, yes. You're not taking my ship anywhere. Put a hand on the steering console and lose it."
―I'nah and Niv Dendrow Apruk[1]

I'nah was a Togruta female who was a Nihil captain during the High Republic Era. After commandeering a cruiser from the Galactic Republic, she and her crew of around fifty members patrolled the Stormwall, a hyperspace barrier separating the Occlusion Zone from the rest of Republic space. In 229 BBY, the Nihil scientist Niv Drendow Apruk demanded that I'nah travel to the Outer Rim planet Valo so he could acquire mycopram for his experiments. Though she initially declined to do so and argued with Apruk about the subject, she eventually transported the scientist to Valo.

Biography[]

"Listen to me, Captain. There is a state-of-the-art research vessel full of new technologies and advancements submerged in a lake in Lonisa City. We shot it down during our triumph at the Republic Fair. The cursed thing has been rotting at the bottom ever since."
"Lake Lonisa?"
"If that's the big lake in Lonisa City, then yes."
"Ah, well, there's a few, but only one that'd fit a cruiser. Anyway, you'll never find it, I'm afraid. That lake's karkin' massive, man. Practically an inland sea, isn't it? And deeper than your mum's best ghoatmeal cauldron."
―Niv Dendrow Apruk and I'nah[1]

The Togruta female I'nah lived during the High Republic Era who, at some point, lost one of her lekku to an injury. She joined the Nihil marauders and began leading a crew of around fifty members. At some point, she commandeered a cruiser from the Galactic Republic and served as the ship's captain to lead her crew. For some time, the crew patrolled the Stormwall, a hyperspace barrier separating the Occlusion Zone from the rest of Republic space. At some point, she allowed the pirate Tanana Keem and her crew to use her cruiser as a staging ground for their raids.[1]

I'nah argued with Niv Dendrow Apruk (pictured) about traveling to Valo.

In 229 BBY,[2] I'nah attended a meeting in the ship's briefing room with several of her crew members and the Nihil scientist Niv Drendow Apruk. The group entered a heated argument about several topics, one of which was ration policies for nearby populations. The aspiring pirate Zyle Keem—Tanana's child—eavesdropped on the meeting, overhearing I'nah and her colleagues from the antechamber outside the room. Apruk demanded that I'nah travel to the Outer Rim planet Valo, hoping to gather mycopram for his experiments from the state-of-the-art research vessel Innovator that had sunk in the world's Lake Lonisa. The Togruta tapped the meeting table with a knife and declined, indicating that her ship would not be traveling anywhere.[1]

After reminding him that his senior—the Nihil scientist Boolan—made Apruk redundant, she reiterated her refusal and threatened to sever Apruk's hand were he to commandeer the vessel's steering console. Despite Apruk's further attempts to convince her of his plan, she only mocked him and continued making idle chatter about how deep Lake Lonisa must be. Shortly afterward, a Trandoshan Nihil escorted Zyle away, leaving Apruk to continue arguing with a disinterested I'nah. Eventually, I'nah decided to travel to Valo, and Apruk disembarked to seek mycopram.[1]

Personality and traits[]

"I don't have a mum. And if I did, she wouldn't cook ghoatmeal."
"Right, well, that's a shame. What's on that cruiser you've got yourself so turned inside out about, anyway?"
"How 'bout you just do your job and I worry about what I do and don't need."
―Niv Dendrow Apruk and I'nah[1]

As a Nihil captain, I'nah was a confident leader unafraid of threatening Apruk. She was dismissive of the scientist's concerns and thought his proposal to search the Innovator was silly, briefly mocking him before turning her attention elsewhere. While listening to I'nah and Apruk's conversation, Zyle Keem felt the Togruta's voice sounded oily.[1] By 229 BBY,[2] I'nah had lost one of her striped lekku, and a scarred lump remained.[1]

Equipment[]

I'nah possessed a knife while in the meeting room of her commandeered Republic cruiser.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

I'nah appeared in Escape from Valo, a 2024 junior novel written by Daniel José Older and Alyssa Wong as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[3]
