The Tomb of Eilram was a tomb located on the planet Zeffo. It was built by the ancient Zeffonian species as the resting place of the Zeffo Sage Eilram.[1]

History[]

Early History and Republic era[]

"My Friend, This tomb is utterly fascinating. It once served as a proving ground for Force-sensitive Zeffo sages, but was converted into a space to honor their remains. And yet nothing received greater honor here than the Force itself, the Life Wind, as they called it. It's beautiful to see."
―Eno Cordova[1]

Inside the tomb

The Tomb of Eilram was originally built by the Zeffonians as a training ground. After construction was complete, the Zeffonians who built the structure left a series of wind chimes. It was speculated that the structure's wind chimes were there to help call the sages to prayer when the wind passed through these chimes. The structure was used as a proving ground for Force-sensitive Zeffo Sages. Zeffonian meditation relics were used there in ancient rituals to train Force users and to help users in their pursuit of knowledge. The place was eventually converted into a tomb to honor various Sages including Eilram, a Sage who held a place of significant veneration in Zeffonan culture. Eilram was buried in a chamber where the walls were decorated with an ornate carving of a wroshyr tree to honor how they were the first of the Zeffonians to establish a relationship with the inhabitants of the planet Kashyyyk and how they loved the planet's greenery. The tomb was guarded by several Zeffonian Tomb Guardians. Sometime later, someone or a group of people destroyed a Zeffonian Tomb Guardian and an ancient artifact constructed as an offering to the wind. At some point before the fall of the Jedi Order[1] in 19 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Eno Cordova and explorer droid BD-1 explored the Tomb of Eilram with Cordova documenting the various glyphs, artwork, and artifacts found throughout the tomb.[1]

"Still not sure what I'm supposed to find. He's a little …"
"Eccentric? Tell me about it. But he wouldn't send us here for his amusement. Keep an open mind."
―Kestis and Junda discussing Cordova[1]

Cal Kestis viewing a holorecording made by Cordova

In 14 BBY,[3] during fugitive Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis's first mission to Zeffo, Kestis traveled to the tomb in an attempt to rebuild the Jedi Order. When Kestis reached the entrance of the tomb, he used the Force to slow down a storm to gain entrance to an elevator inside the tomb. Once inside the elevator, he took it to the underground levels of the tomb where reached a puzzle room. Managing to solve the puzzle using the wind vents, Kestis then encountered another puzzle. He successfully solved it by using a nearby wind vent to push an energy sphere so that it could move like a pendulum thereby allowing Kestis to jump across a gap. Eventually, he reached the main puzzle room and fought against an ancient Zeffonian Tomb Guardian. After defeating the Tomb Guardian, he used the nearby wind vents and his force powers to reach a large door where he experienced a vision from his past which helped him relearn how to push objects with the Force. With the renewed ability, Kestis was able to enter the chamber where Eilram was buried. BD-1 then showed Kestis a recording of Cordova in that tomb. During the recording, Cordova pointed out the wroshyr carving, which indicated the Zeffonians once had ties to the jungle planet Kashyyyk. He finished by saying that if the Zeffonians had been on Kashyyyk, Wookiee Chieftain Tarfful would know of it. This led Kestis and his crew to travel there.[1]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon.

When Kestis explored the tomb, he used a Force ability called psychometry to learn about what occurred in the tomb before his arrival. While exploring the tomb, Kestis opened one chest in the main puzzle room that contained a Balmgrass BD-1 skin. Another chest near the chamber where Eilram was buried was opened by Kestis that contained Slivian iron which could be used to construct a lightsaber. A third chest, located near the main puzzle room, was unfastened by Kestis which had the material for the Outlander poncho.[1]

Tomb of EilramConceptArt

Bruno Werneck's concept art of the tomb

The Tomb of Eilram was created for the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts[1] on November 15, 2019.[4] The location was first revealed in Cal's Mission Trailer on September 26, 2019.[5] Artist Bruno Werneck created concept art of the tomb.[6] Like the rest of the game, the location was heavily influenced by 3D Metroidvania type design- an action-adventure subgenre defined by large, interconnected maps containing paths that can be unlocked as the player progresses through the game.[7] Initially, the tomb was a series of wind-inspired puzzles. This later evolved to incorporate several narrative themes. For example, the team behind Fallen Order carved a canopy into the windswept formations of the tomb to show the Zeffonian's admiration of Kashyyyk's Origin Tree. The emulation of natural features aided in informing the organic patterns used throughout ancient Zeffonian architecture.[6]

Easter Egg and Update[]

Tomb of EilramSecretRoom

The secret room where the easter egg is

The team behind the game also added a secret room inside the tomb where the player can find low polygon models of not only Boglings and Zaur but also of Yoda. The player can only access the room and see these figurines by first using the elevator at the entrance of the tomb to descend. Then the player must exit the elevator at the entrance of the tomb to descend. Afterward, the player must exit the elevator by using the crack in the elevator where the player will enter a room full of wind vents and moveable Zeffonian energy spheres. On the player's left where the Tomb Guardian is, there should be a slot for a Zeffonian energy sphere. Place the energy sphere into the slot and the location in which the easter egg appears will unlock. Players can get to the secret room and see the easter egg by traveling back to the main elevator, proceeding onto the circular platform with the ball in the center, and jumping to the grate from there. Once the player successfully jumps to the gate, the player can climb up and access the secret room where the easter egg is.[1]

On May 4, 2020,[8] Respawn Entertainment released a free content update of the game on all platforms. This update consisted of a combat challenges mode that allowed players to fight various enemies in the game in preset waves from certain locations visited in the game, which included the Tomb of Eilram. The update also included a battle grid mode that allowed players to fight any number of enemies at different locations in the game, which included the Tomb of Eilram. These two modes can be accessed through the meditation training mechanism in the game.[1]
