Publisher's summary[]

THE EXECUTOR? Bad. PRINCESS LEIA aboard the Executor? Worse. DARTH VADER pursuing Leia aboard the Executor? WORST OF ALL.[1]

Plot summary[]

HOPE DIES
Part V
Queen Trios' betrayal and sabotage has left the
Rebel fleet completely helpless and at the mercy of
the mighty Imperial Navy.

Han Solo has courageously navigated the raging
battle to personally deliver crucial intelligence to
Luke Skywalker, allowing the Rebel fighters and the
newly formed Rogue Squadron to launch and finally
fight back against the Empire.

Now, Princess Leia leads a covert strike mission onto
the Imperial flagship in a last-ditch effort to secure
Trios' override codes and return power to the
cruisers. But Darth Vader has discovered their
deception and is on the hunt for the rebels....

Continuity[]

Originally, Draven was alive until at least during the rescue of Han Solo and just prior to the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY as Star Wars: The Rebel Files had established. Due to a degree of miscommunication, however, where it seems notes were missed during production of Star Wars: The Rebel Files, Star Wars 54: Hope Dies, Part V had Draven dying aboard the Executor. Matt Martin specified that for the time being, the comic is the definitive story for Draven.[3][4]

We're hoping to have it fixed in future printings of the book. For now, you can assume that the comic is the definitive story for that character." (backup link)
  4. TwitterLogo Matt Martin (@missingwords) on Twitter: "That death was plotted for Marvel before Rebel Files was written. Remember, the order things come out isn't necessarily the order they're created. A note was given in the RF manuscript to remove the mentions of that character after a certain time but fell through the cracks." (backup link)
