Young Jin Bubaigawara

A young Jin claims that the accident was not his fault.

When Jin Bubaigawara was in middle school, both of his parents were killed in a villain attack, leaving him alone as an orphan without any other family members to adopt him. He was able to find employment with an employer who kindly gave him food and shelter.

Later, Jin accidentally hit someone with his motorbike, and the victim survived with only a broken arm. Jin was brought to the police where he explained that the victim jumped in front of his bike. Understanding Jin was fully abiding the law, the police officer released him, informing Jin that this incident would have created a criminal record, but assured him that it is never too late to start over.

Jin created clones of himself

Jin creates clone of himself, so he'll have the ability to commit crimes easily.

Unfortunately, the motorcycle accident victim was a staff member of a long-time customer of Jin's boss, and he vowed that he would never return to their business. This enraged Jin's boss, blaming, firing, and evicting Jin into homelessness.

Jin's loneliness and depression eventually became so severe that he used his Quirk on himself to create someone he could trust. At first, he created one copy of himself, and gradually made more to be his friends. To survive, however, he later began using his duplicates to perform armed robberies and thefts.

Twices fight

Clones of Jin fight for supremacy.

He soon realized his Quirk could create unlimited criminal manpower, expanding his own assets and power by using his immense numbers to commit many infamous crimes. Such rise in infamy led Jin into becoming one of Japan's most wanted criminals.

However, Jin began to abuse his powers by lazily letting his copies do all of the difficult work for him. This backfired as all of his copies also shared his personality, which meant they also shared his laziness of not wanting to do any hard work.[1]

Jin joins the League

Jin is recruited into the League of Villains.

Jin's clones revolted and almost killed Jin by vertically slicing his forehead, then strapped him to a chair. They argued about who was the "true Jin", and fought for nine days until all the clones killed one another with only one Jin left. Since the incident, Jin has struggled to come to terms with whether or not he is a clone.[2]

Sometime later, Jin, wearing a paper bag over his head, met with Giran and explained his history to him. Giran noted that Jin's Quirk was extremely powerful, suggesting that he could take down a country if he wanted to, commenting that someone this powerful fell so far. Jin asked Giran what he could do. Giran told him that surprisingly there were a lot of people like himself in the world, and recommended that he join a group of comrades. Giran then promised to introduce him to one such group.[1]

Synopsis[]

Forest Training Camp Arc[]

Dabi and Twice

Twice works with Dabi to distract the Pro Heroes using clones.

Jin joins the only group that he believes will accept a crazy man like him, the League of Villains. Assuming the role of the villain Twice, Jin's recruited following the wake of Hero Killer: Stain and is assigned to the Vanguard Action Squad. The villains' first mission to attack U.A. High School's Quirk Training Camp and strike a lethal blow to hero society by kidnapping Katsuki Bakugo.

Twice arrives as one of the last villains to invade the Beast's Forest. He joins Dabi in a spot where they're cloaked by a wall of flames and poisonous gas. Twice creates a clone of Dabi to attack the heroes' base camp in order to stop Eraser Head from protecting the students.

Eraser Head destroys the clone and Twice mocks Dabi for his clones' defeat. Dabi says it's Twice's power that's weak and the latter retracts his previous statement and claims Eraser Head is just very strong. Dabi tells Twice to hurry up and make another clone. Twice replies that it won't work since Dabi is weak and then contradicts himself and agrees to do it.[3]

Himiko and Twice

Twice talks with Himiko.

Twice sends another clone of Dabi after Vlad King and the students at base camp. Mr. Compress eventually manages to capture Katsuki and relays the message to the rest of the Vanguard Action Squad.

Twice and Dabi move toward the rendezvous point. Twice tells Dabi Mr. Compress did a good job and then contradicts himself by stating that it took too long. Dabi tells Twice not to insult Mr. Compress and adds that Mustard must have been defeated since the gas disappeared. Twice agrees that nothing goes according to plan and then says that it's all a part of the plan. Twice also reminds Dabi to call back Nomu after telling him to release it earlier.

Shoto Todoroki vs Twice

Twice defends himself against Shoto's freezing attacks.

Twice and Dabi regroup with Himiko Toga at the meeting point in the forest. Himiko only managed to get one person's blood instead of three like she was supposed to. Twice scolds her for this but Himiko explains that things got hectic during her fight. She adds that she made new friends and found a new crush. Twice replies that he's flattered but he's not interested and then claims he loves her. Suddenly, three U.A. students tackle Mr. Compress to the ground from high in the air. Shocked, Twice says he recognizes the kids and then asks who they are.[4]

Dabi gets the students away from Mr. Compress using a fire attack. Twice screams that the fire is cold. Twice recognizes Izuku Midoriya and Shoto Todoroki from Tomura's kill list and targets the latter. Shoto uses a freezing attack but Twice eccentrically uses his acrobatics to evade the ice. He uses his sharp measuring tape to cut through it. He asks Shoto to take it easy on him and then tells him to try harder.

Kurogiri arrives to take the villains to safety. Twice jumps head first into the portal and meets his allies at the League of Villains' hideout.[5]

Hideout Raid Arc[]

Tomura and the League of Villains introduce Katsuki to their cause. Tomura explains that the villains are trying to disrupt hero society and reform justice in their own image. He asks Dabi to free Katsuki from his restraints but Dabi tells Twice to do it. Twice refuses at first and then gives in and frees Katsuki. Katsuki immediately kicks Twice over and blasts Tomura's mask off with an explosion. The U.A. student tells the villains he'll never join them because he wants to win and be a hero like All Might.[6]

Twice and Himiko restrained

"Loosen up tree man!... Harder!"

Twice recovers and his allies prepare to restrain Katsuki. Tomura keeps his composure and tells his comrades to stand down. He asks his master to lend him the power to force Katsuki into submission. They're suddenly interrupted when Kamino's pizzeria knocks on the door. It confuses and gets the attention of Twice and the villains. While they're distracted, All Might bursts in the rear wall of the hideout. Kamui Woods follows him and restrains all the villains with his Ultimate Move: Lacquered Chain Prison.

Twice asks "tree man" to loosen the restrains and then begs for him to squeeze harder. Gran Torino appears and the heroes warn the villains to give up. The old man reveals most of the League's identities, including Jin's. Twice watches in horror as Kurogiri gets knocked out by Edgeshot and there being no Nomu arrive to back the villains up. The villains lose their only method of escape and the heroes declare checkmate.[7]

Just when all hope is lost for the villains, a mysterious black liquid transfers Nomu into the hideout.[8] The same liquid warps the villains away and they re-appear by All For One at the Nomu Factory. All Might follows them there and All For One holds him off.[9] He orders them to recapture Katsuki before the heroes catch up with them.

Katsuki evades Twice

Twice tries to subdue Katsuki.

Twice and his allies ambush Katsuki and try to take him by force. Twice uses his measuring tapes to attack but Katsuki evades all the villains using explosions to move around them. Katsuki's classmates make a sudden rescue attempt that succeeds and he escapes the battlefield.[10] Twice, Mr. Compress, Spinner, and Magne try to pursue him but Gran Torino suddenly arrives and knocks them all unconscious.[11]

All For One uses Magne's Quirk to send everyone through a Warp Gate. The villains escape successfully but All For One is defeated by All Might and imprisoned. The League survives and recovers inside an abandoned apartment building where Tomura swears vengeance for his master.[12]

Provisional Hero License Exam Arc[]

Jin Bubaigawara listening to the television

Jin listens to the TV News.

The League of Villains spread out across multiple areas to keep the police off their trails and recruit new allies. Jin assumes the life of a civilian and lives in an apartment for a short time. Every morning he smokes a cigarette and watches the citizens outside. One morning, he watches a news broadcast about Endeavor as the new No. 1 Hero following All Might's retirement.

Jin leaves the building and walks the streets while mulling over what it means for someone to recognize themselves. He comes across Team Reservoir Dogs robbing a store and notices that criminals are rising up and banding together. Giran calls Jin's phone and asks for Dabi's location. Jin starts to struggle juggling his multiple personalities so Giran lets him go.

Jin Bubaigawara breaking down

Jin struggles to keep himself in one piece.

Twice puts on his mask and becomes "whole" again. He walks down an alleyway and notices that Team Reservoir Dogs has been annihilated by a mysterious masked villain. Twice believes that this man is the perfect kind of crazy for the League of Villains.[2]

Shie Hassaikai Arc[]

Twice talks to the villain, who reveals himself as Overhaul, and he agrees to meet with the League. Twice takes him to a secret interview site. Overhaul complains of the dust and says it's going to make him sick. Twice replies that everyone in the League of Villains is sick anyway. They enter the hideout and Tomura commends Twice for recruiting a strong villain.[13]

Overhaul meets the League of Villains

Twice recruits Overhaul to the League of Villains.

Tomura explains that All For One told him about Overhaul being the young Yakuza Captain of the Shie Hassaikai. Overhaul clashes with Tomura over the direction the villains should be taking and asks the League to work under him. Tomura refuses and Magne tries to force Overhaul to leave. Overhaul shocks everyone when he suddenly murders Magne within seconds.

Mr. Compress rushes to restrain Overhaul but he's shot with a Quirk-nullifying bullet. Overhaul blasts his arm off completely and his followers rush into the building. Twice is surprised because he was sure they weren't followed. Tomura explains they're using someone's Quirk. Twice rushes to Compress' side and Overhaul laments about the meeting turning hostile. He asks that they talk again when things calm down but Twice curses him and asks Tomura to let him take responsibility. Tomura tells his allies to stand down and allows the Yakuza to retreat.[14]

Jin Bubaigawara unmasked

"I'm human too Shigaraki!"

Tomura eventually meets with the Shie Hassaikai and agrees to lend them Twice and Himiko. This doesn't go over well at all with either of them. Twice doesn't care about Overhaul's plan and reminds Tomura what the Yakuza took from them. He's overwhelmed with guilt and responsibility he felt at the fact that one of his teammates was killed and another was violently maimed and pleads with Tomura to reconsider. Twice even removes his mask and reminds Tomura that he's still human. Himiko intervenes and turns her knife to Tomura's neck. She demands to know why he would make her do something so unpleasant when she only joined the League to feel good.

Tomura surprises Twice and Himiko by taking off his mask. He says they must do it for his sake and all of theirs. The Shie Hassaikai is trying to overtake the League of Villains and Tomura needs the duo to do what they feel is best to help the League. He trusts them to do their best and the duo is moved by Tomura's words.[15]

Twice and Himiko meet Shie Hassaikai

Himiko and Twice meet the Shie Hassaikai.

Twice and Himiko are brought to the Shie Hassaikai Compound where they meet with Overhaul and all his main followers. Twice tells Overhaul he'll never forgive him and claims it'll be nice working together. Overhaul apologizes for killing Magne and Twice angrily reminds him that she identified as female. Then Twice suddenly changes his attitude and asks what he should do, throwing off some of the Yakuza. Overhaul asks the details of their Quirks but Himiko refuses to answer because she hates him. Twice agrees that they'll never be Yakuza and refuses to talk as well.

Shin Nemoto uses his Quirk to make Twice explain how his Quirk works to everyone. He instantly regrets it and apologizes to Himiko for embarrassing her. Shin uses his Quirk again to ask if Tomura planned on betraying them. Himiko and Twice both deny any plans of betrayal. Overhaul orders them both to remain underground since they are wanted criminals and Twice isn't happy about being on house arrest.[16]

Temp Squad

The temporary Yakuza are called to action.

Sir Nighteye's investigation leads a team of heroes to the Yakuza hideout. Overhaul orders the temporary Yakuza to hold off the enemy to cover his escape.[17] Himiko and Twice are forced to work alongside Mimic to take down Sir Nighteye's team. Mimic separates the heroes and Twice confronts Sir Nighteye with a clone of Kendo Rappa.[18]

Twice comments that Nighteye looks like a salaryman and orders Rappa to attack. Sir surprises everyone by effortlessly taking down the clone. Twice's expression is especially shocked. The clone melts and Twice claims the Yakuza are useless. Sir Nighteye rips off half of Twice's mask using a compact weapon and Twice runs away. Mimic helps him to retreat by putting up a wall behind him but Twice thinks Mimic could've crushed him.

Himiko comforts Twice

Himiko helps stop Twice from splitting.

Twice starts to panic and fears that he'll split. Himiko appears and wraps a cloth around Jin's exposed face to help calm him down. She empathizes with him because she knows Jin feels the greatest responsibility for Magne's death. Himiko says the Yakuza are useless and working with them won't yield any rewards. Instead, the duo are inspired by Tomura's words to live the way they want to. They insult Mimic and throw him into a frenzy.[15]

Mimic starts distorting the cave and tries to crush the villains and heroes alike. Himiko decides to use the heroes to destroy the Yakuza as proper revenge. She gets Mimic to reveal his position by angering him and the heroes defeat him. As he falls defeated, Twice and Himiko taunt him by waving goodbye.[16]

Twice tells Toga his plan

Himiko agrees with Twice's plan.

From an upper floor, Himiko and Twice are witnesses of Mimic's arrest, and that Izuku, Shota and Sir Nighteye are ahead of the group to stop Overhaul. Seeing that the Heroes and the Police Force were gone, the two came out of hiding. While wanting to see Izuku badly injured again, Himiko wanted to make Kai Chisaki pay.

Twice whispered some idea into Himiko's ear, and she thought that Tomura Shigaraki would be quite pleased with it. She hoped that whatever the conclusion was between the Heroes and the Shie Hassaikai, they would all be injured and tired at the end.[19]

Himiko Toga and Twice report to the League

Himiko reports in while Jin on the other hand is about to lose his mind.

Twice creates a clone of Mr. Compress to help dig them out of the underground labyrinth. Himiko transforms into Izuku and leads the heroes to Overhaul. Twice tells Mr. Compress' clone to capture Eri but the ensuing battle between Izuku and Overhaul keeps him from doing so.[20]

Izuku eventually defeats Overhaul and the injured Yakuza are transported toward a villain hospital. Twice tells Himiko to contact the League so they can ambush the convoy. Himiko makes the call while Jin takes off his costume and argues with himself.[21]

Meta Liberation Army Arc[]

Less than a month before the Hero Billboard Chart JP, the League of Villains is in a sorry state. They're barely scraping by with no funds and have resorted to stealing from other criminal groups, while hiding out in an abandoned run-down building near a construction site. Sometime during this period while the League are taking it easy, Twice asks Himiko if she wants a Villain name of her own, with Mr. Compress and Spinner adding that her and Tomura are the only ones without one, so Twice excitedly says they'll name her. Himiko refuses one, with Spinner suggesting "Vampiress Carmilla", and Twice suggesting "Suck-Suck" (and "Lickitung"), but Himiko rejects both. Dabi calls the suggestions stupid and just crowd-pleasing crap as a holdover from before the Quirk registration system.

Tomura proceeds to explain how in the past there used to be no difference between Heroes and Villains, with one theory being that aliases were originated when you had an anonymous enemy and needed to call them something. From there, some adopted those nicknames to hide their identities, and eventually, they went all in with the code-names ripped straight from comic books, leading to the world becoming like a comic book itself. Tomura says he's good without one, even though he thinks they can be cool. Himiko happily jumps for joy after healing all of that, saying that is why she joined the League, to live as "Himiko Toga". Twice follows this up saying it sounds great, telling her to drop all the bodies she likes, and become whoever she wants.[22]

League of Villains vs

The League of Villains attack the Creature Rejection Clan.

Sometime later, the League of Villains target the Creature Rejection Clan as the next criminal organization to attain some more resources and funding. However, this hardly benefits them. Once back at the secret base in the mountains, discrepancies begin to emerge from Spinner due to their lack of success, but at that moment appears Gigantomachia.[23]

Before being caught by the police, Kurogiri had mentioned to Tomura that Gigantomachia is a "secret weapon" left by All For One to use in case of need, and at first Tomura is happy with his presence and attempts to make contact with him in hopes of recruiting him into their ranks. However, the giant claims he devotes himself to All For One and demands that Tomura prove he is worthy to be his successor. The League of Villains is easily overpowered and the titan begins to wail and mourn, tearfully crying out that Tomura is too weak to be a successor, calling the League unacceptable, while questioning All For One's motives. An injured Twice questions Tomura whether they should retreat for the time being or fight back in response.[24]

After being defeated, and to avoid that Gigantomachia ended up killing someone by accident, the whole group is transferred by Daruma Ujiko, the allied doctor of All For One, to his secret laboratory, where he was creating a new series of Nomus.[25] The doctor does not hesitate to criticize the members of the League and tell them that they are weak, but he is willing to help them, especially after checking Tomura's resolution and will are strong. However, the doctor tells them that to obtain his full support and resources, they must first defeat and subdue Gigantomachia.[26]

The League of Villains attack Gigantomachia in mid-air

The League of Villains continuing to fight Gigantomachia.

Due to this condition, the members of the League of Villains fight almost constantly against Gigantomachia. In these fights Twice uses his Quirk to create clones of Tomura, as the giant mostly focused on fighting Tomura. After a month and a half fighting, the League is still unable to defeat him, but they are making progress, and Tomura still possessed a stronger resolve.

At that moment, Twice receives a call from Giran, who, for unknown reasons, the League did not know anything about for weeks. The first thing Twice does when responding to the call is to reproach Giran for not been picking up their calls for a long time. However, an unknown voice apologizes on behalf of the broker, because he is not responsible for that.

The League of Villains check the news

The League of Villains check the news.

The man over the phone introduces himself as Re-Destro, Grand Commander of the Meta Liberation Army. Twice ask what Re-Destro has done with Giran and what does he want. Re-Destro answers that they torture him but he is alive. After boasting about the Army's forces, Re-Destro explains that the Army desires to destroy the status quo and allow people to use their Quirks freely, however the League's popularity is interfering with their plans. He explains that only the Army can be credited with the revolution that changes society, therefore the League of Villains must be eliminated to signal the Army revival.

He also claims to have a satellite camera locked on the villains. Twice becomes alarmed by this and throws his phone but Re-Destro proclaims that is too late and his satellites have already locked in their location and will track them no matter where they go. He warns that all the heroes will be on them with a simple phone call. As a declaration of war, Tomura is given the choice to bring the League to Deika City to face the Meta Liberation Army or do nothing and be captured by the heroes. If the League of Villains wishes to see Giran free, they must go to Aichi Prefecture in the next hour.[27]

Tomura removes Twice's mask

Tomura removes his mask to shut him up.

The members of the League begin to wonder if Re-Destro's threats and boasts are real or only bluff, but Twice emphatically demands they save Giran. He continues with saying that Giran gave him a place to belong and that they must go and save him. Mr. Compress urges Twice to calm down while pointing out that Twice wants the group to "plunge headlong into unknown danger". Tomura removes Twice's mask to shut him up and tells everyone he has a plan to solve two of his problems.

Knowing Gigantomachia will keep hunting him down no matter what, he simply accepts Re-Destro's challenge so that they're between him and the giant when the next attack comes. Then once the Meta Liberation Army is decimated by Gigantomachia's rampage, he plans to attack Gigantomachia, hoping the Army weakened him enough to finally take him down. Tomura returns Jin's mask and says the Army will never know what hit them.

Twice begs Himiko to not die

Twice begs Himiko to not die.

They still have over two hours until Gigantomachia wakes up, and Tomura asks the doctor to warp them all to Aichi.[28] Once there, they are guided into Deika City by Pro Hero Slidin' Go. As they walk through the abandoned town, where they meet face to face with Trumpet and Curious, two top executives of the Army. Trumpet signals the Meta Liberation Army's Revival Celebration to begin and dozens of warriors attack.[29] Because they are attacked on several fronts, the League is separated, and each member must defend himself as best they can.

During the battle, Twice encounters a severely injured Himiko after her fight with Curious. Shocked by the state of Himiko's condition, Twice's personalities begin arguing with each other, with one personality insisting that Himiko will die while the other refuses to give up on her. Twice brings out the handkerchief Himiko gave him when he was on the verge of spitting and urges her to live, saying that she and the League were the only ones who accepted a failure like him and vowing to kill the Liberation soldiers who hurt her so badly.

Twice gets attacked by Skeptic's Puppets

Twice and Himiko are ambushed by Skeptic's lookalike clones.

Twice is too distraught to notice Skeptic's puppets approaching him. When he turns around, the puppets have taken on his true appearance, immediately evoking the traumatic memory of nearly being killed by his own clones. Twice screams in fear as the puppets descend upon him and rip away his mask before knocking him away from Himiko's body.

A pair of puppets pin him down, while the rest begin twisting Himiko's neck with the intention of murdering her. As this is happening, Twice sees the puppets with his face trying to kill Himiko and, in a fit of delusion, believes that he is actually the one trying to kill his closest friend in the League. This sends him into hysteria, as he questions if he is even the real Twice or just a clone.[30]

Jin realizes that he is the original one

Realizing that he has always been the real Jin Bubaigawara.

He recalls his troubled past after his parents died and he had to resort to living on the streets. He originally created clones of himself just so he could have someone he could talk to and trust; however, as he began embarking on a life of crime driven only by the desire to live a comfortable lifestyle, he made mistake after mistake until it all culminated in the incident where his clones violently rebelled against him and he was driven insane, forcing him to cover his face from that point on to prevent himself from splitting.

He became unsure of whether he was a clone or not, and since his clones would vanish after taking as little damage as a bone fracture, he became fearful of suddenly disappearing from existence if he injured himself too badly. It was at this time that he was recruited by Giran, who told him that a group of people from similar circumstances had recently formed and could use someone with a Quirk like his.

Jin can use his Quirk to its full potential

Twice overcomes his demons.

Emboldened by the memories of his salvation by the League, Twice breaks free of the puppets restraining him and rushes towards Himiko, but Skeptic orders the other puppets to beat him down. Several of the puppets then hold him in place and break his arms, with Skeptic threatening to break his legs next if he continues to resist. However, Twice realizes that despite the damage he's taken, he has not vanished and that he is the original after all.

With a new rush of confidence from the confirmation that he is indeed the real Jin Bubaigawara, he generates a group of clones that break through Skeptic's puppets, calling them "fakes". Twice declares that he won't leave his friends to die and that he will show the Liberation Army just how dangerous his Quirk can be.[1]

Infinite Doubles Sad Man's Parade

Twice's clones unleashed on his enemies.

After recalling a moment where he failed to copy the Quirk-Destroying bullets, Twice laments over not being helpful and getting in the way despite how much he wanted to repay his comrades for accepting him. Continuously duplicating himself in Infinite Doubles, Twice attacks Skeptic's puppets as well as Meta Liberation Army warriors. As his clones spread through the streets, Twice carries the unconscious Himiko. Soon, they reach his comrades and the duplicates, where they provide aid by overwhelming the Army's forces.

The clones cover the streets while bickering among themselves. One clone tells Mr. Compress how he overcame his trauma by stating he used with "love and courage". Another clone replies that a good villain would want to save his friends. A different clone suggests doubling Dabi however, Mr. Compress warns that the Dabi clone would destroy everything leaving Gigantomachia with nothing but the League to fight.[31]

Twice ready to face Re-Destro

Twice's Double ready to confront Re-Destro.

Twice's clones storm the city before they reach the tower and confront Re-Destro. Twice's clones taunt him on his balding head,[32] while an annoyed Re-Destro remarks that Twice's puns lack the comedy that Miyashita has.[33] Twice's clones create copies of Dabi, Tomura, and Mr. Compress while they try to rescue Giran. However, Re-Destro overcomes their acts and halts their rescue attempts until the clone of Tomura warns the Twice clone to protect Giran before the real Tomura destroys the tower.

As soon as the real one put his hand on the wall, Decay spreads and the building collapses completely. Twice clone creates several more clones to act as a cushion to protect Giran. Almost all the clones are destroyed but Giran is unscathed from the collapse.[34] Re-Destro survives the fall too and finally comes face to face with Tomura. While the two fights, a surviving clone takes Giran out from the place.

Jin takes Himiko's measurements

Jin decides to create a clone of Himiko to do a blood transfusion.

Meanwhile, Twice prepares to create a copy of Himiko to give her a blood transfusion, because he doesn't know her blood group. After copying her and preparing to do the transfusion,[35] one of the Twice clones goes out to investigate the area, being attacked by Skeptic and his troop of puppets.

Skeptic approaches where Twice and Himiko are, creating more puppets with his Quirk, while ranting Jin's name and constantly denying that he has failed.[36] However, they have no chance to fight, because Gigantomachia arrives at Deika City, sweeping everything and everyone in his path.[37]

Jin and his doubles escape taking Himiko with them

Twice takes Himiko to safety.

While Gigantomachia rampages the city and the Army does what it can to stop it, Jin and his clones are moving through the chaos and destruction, carrying an unconscious Himiko and her clone to keep them safe, hoping to regroup the League of Villains after this conflict. Jin notes that the rampaging Gigantomachia it's too one-sided, and the Army can barely stop him.[38]

Tomura manages to defeat Re-Destro who, upon recognizing his superiority, surrenders and bestows control of the army to Tomura. Several days later, at the Gunga Mountain Villa, Twice rests and eats sushi with his comrades after the battle. He mourns Himiko through a picture of her, though he is berated by the real Himiko who is simply wounded and tells him she is very much alive and the picture is creeping her out. Twice then has outbursts over this, as his friends note on how he hasn't changed.

The Paranormal Liberation Front (Anime)

Twice introduced as a lieutenant of the alliance.

When Trumpet and Skeptic arrive, he argues with them on still eating but this is broken up and the League members follow them. Skeptic is annoyed at the League's slow response and complains that it was the Meta Liberation Army's money that paid for their goods and medical treatments, and Twice replies if it weren't for them Re-Destro would be dead. Trumpet tells both to stop.

He and the rest of the League came on stage when Tomura announced the Meta Liberation Army and League of Villains will become the Paranormal Liberation Front (which Spinner and Re-Destro coined together), becoming one of its Lieutenants.[39]

My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising[]

Sometime after the clash, Tomura and his allies gain information about one of Doctor Ujiko's projects involving Quirk and body enhancement upon getting requested that his League needs to transfer an important cargo to an unknown location. The League questions Daruma what's inside the cargo, to which the doctor simply tells them it has nothing to do with them. Dabi, Spinner, and Mr. Compress are assigned to do the task. Tomura decides to order Twice to create doubles of Dabi, Mr. Compress, and Spinner to do the job instead of sending the real ones to avoid the risk of getting themselves captured.

A few days later, the League relocates at an abandoned shack despite having their main headquarters being located in Deika City. They discuss the question of who was inside the convey, to which Twice believes the convey might've contained something important regardless of Daruma's previous statement. Despite their discussion, all members (excluding Tomura) are still unaware of what was truly inside the convey.[40]

Endeavor Agency Arc[]

Twice and his allies (excluding Tomura and Geten) were present at a meeting in which Hawks informs them of Endeavor's decision to take on two new trainees other than Shoto. Twice compliments Hawks for working so hard and wonders if he can become of his men sooner or later.[41] He later asks Hawks to become his tutor for learning about the book.[42]

Paranormal Liberation War Arc[]

Hawks tutoring Twice

Hawks explains the Meta Liberation ideology to Twice.

During Hawks' time in the Front, he had been teaching Twice on Meta Liberation ideology.[43] Twice befriends him and trusts Hawks so much that he doesn't hesitate to reveal Tomura's whereabouts to him, telling him that Tomura is in the mountains in Kyoto, in a four-month process to gain more power.

Twice didn't know at the time, but Hawks is a mole who works for the Hero Public Safety Commission to whom he transmits essential information about the Paranormal Liberation Front. With the information they have just obtained from Twice, the commission already has all the necessary information, and by the end of March, they organize hundreds of heroes to carry out a great raid.[44]

Twice lashes out at Hawks

Twice is deeply devastated over Hawks' betrayal.

While an army of heroes launch a mass assault on the hospital where Tomura is hiding out, another army of heroes raided the Gunga Mountain Villa. Hawks reveals himself to be a double agent working for the heroes and confronts Twice in private by surrounding him with his feathers.[45]

Hawks tells Twice that he was easy to manipulate and that he intends to turn him in once the war is over. Hurt by Hawks' betrayal, Twice remembers his past experiences of being betrayed by the ones he trusted, especially since it cost his friend's life. He breaks down emotionally, realizing the folly of his trusting nature and lamenting how sad it is not to be trusted. Hawks tells Twice that he wants to redeem him because he claims that deep down he is a good person.

Twice lashes out in anger, expressing his hatred towards heroes. Refusing to trust Hawks ever again, he unleashes Infinite Doubles to fight him, and the latter reluctantly accepts as he prepares to fight the one he considered a good friend. Dabi approaches the room where the two are fighting and muses that it was the scummy heroes who were to blame for Twice's descent into villainy.[46]

Hawks solemnly destroys all Twice's doubles

Jin makes Doubles of the only friends he has left.

Despite Twice's clones outnumbering Hawks easily, his efforts are in vain as Hawks destroys his clones easily due to them getting weaker with each use of his Quirk. Hawks tries to get Twice to surrender but Twice refuses to listen to him and creates doubles of the League of Villains, his only allies. Hawks destroys them too and says that heroes eliminate villains quickly because someone who never gives up is a hero's worst fear. Twice tries to attack him, but is severely injured by one of Hawks' feather blades.

Realizing that he put his allies in danger again, Twice believes that Himiko will never comfort him again. He swears to protect the League's happiness and tries to create one last double, but Hawks destroys it and says he'll pass on the message to the League. Before the hero is about to kill him, Twice is saved by his ally, Dabi, who turns the tables on Hawks.[47]

As Dabi releases a huge blast of flames at Hawks, who is underneath his feet, it also indiscriminately affected Twice. Hawks managed to pull both himself and Twice out of Dabi's flames, much to the surprise of the latter, and commented on how Dabi almost torched Twice too. To which Dabi responded sarcastically, talking about how heroes always instinctively save others. Twice then tries to escape from Hawks' grasp, much to the hero's annoyance, and manages to do so with a blast from Dabi that assisted in his escape. But just as he was about to join the battle and duplicated a copy of himself, Hawks reappeared, having moved out of Dabi's blast and flanked the two of them. Twice screams at Hawks to get out of his way while Dabi fires another heat blast at Hawks.

The last double of Twice melts away in Himiko's arms

Twice's Double melts away, signifying the original Twice's tragic demise.

Twice manages to escape Hawks again and witnesses the fight between Paranormal Liberation Front and the heroes. Looking at his close friends in danger, he recalls the kindness that they've shown him and tries to help them. However, he is attacked once again by Hawks, much to his dismay. He manages to send a clone of himself out onto the battlefield. While his original is stabbed by Hawks.[48]

His clone manages to save Himiko and Mr. Compress from Eel Boy, who captured the two of them by stabbing the hero from behind. As Mr. Compress expresses his delight that victory is now theirs due to Twice's involvement, the latter says that he is unable to clone himself anymore nor can he make Doubles of himself as he had dropped down on the concrete after the original made him.

He tells them about how it's his fault again and how he has been back-stabbed by Hawks. He approaches Himiko and takes out the handkerchief she used to calm him down back during the raid on Shie Hassaikai to wipe away the blood on her face. As Twice starts fading, he feels grateful to have made such a good friend like Himiko and that he had lived a blessed life, and he was as happy as he could have been.[48]

U.A. Traitor Arc[]

However, even despite his death, Twice's shadow continues to linger in the aftermath of the War. Right after his death, Dabi collected a vial of his blood from the corpse, as well as also used the surveillance footage of Hawks murdering him to help discredit the Heroes in the fall of society.

A month later, as the Villains were in hiding preparing for the Final War against the Heroes, Dabi gave the vial of blood to Himiko, knowing that with her Transform Quirk and her love for him, she will be able to use the Double Quirk, ensuring that his Sad Man's Parade will be able to march again.[49]

Final War Arc[]

Twice's doubles emerge from the Warp Gate

"Twice's" grand return.

As the Final War began, Himiko is warped to Okuto Island to face off against Ochaco and Tsuyu again. They do everything they can to keep their eyes on her to prevent her from escaping, while she attempts to find the right time to ingest Twice's blood, aware that she only has enough to transform into him for 30-40 minutes, and that she needs a way to get off the island.

Ultimately, she puts her trust in her comrades, and after gaining the upper-hand, she ingests the vial, transforming into Twice, and immediately begins creating Twice Doubles. At this very moment, thanks to the actions of Spinner, Kurogiri is freed from his capture, and warps to Himiko's location, who asks to be warped to Hawks' location to get revenge.

Himiko-Twice is warped to the Gunga Mountain Ruins as she unleashes a Sad Man's Parade, swarming the mountains with Twice Doubles. Their attacks, alongside the assistance of Dabi's flames, proceeds to overwhelm the Heroes fighting on the ground, forcing them to retreat.[50][51][52]

Himiko's Sad Man's Parade

The Sad Man's Parade is unleashed again.

Meanwhile, at the floating U.A. Fortress, more Twice Doubles are teleported onto the observation deck, where they attack Eraser Head, Manual, and Phantom Thief, forcing the latter to the ground, undoing the Erasure Quirk, and resulting in Tomura, who had been fighting Izuku, regaining use of his Quirks.[53]

As the Twice Doubles continue to swarm all over, constantly repeating to kill all the Heroes, several Twice Doubles knock Eraser Head and Present Mic off the deck, causing them to plummet toward the ground before "Kurogiri" suddenly appears and saves them, teleporting all three of them away.

The infinite Twice Doubles at the Gunga Mountain continue to overrun the Heroes until they receive assistance from the Shiketsu High School Hero Course students as reinforcements. Inasa Yoarashi uses his Whirlwind to suck up the Twice Double swarm, keeping some of them neutralized in the air, helping to turn the tide of the battle as the Heroes put their full attention in targeting All For One.[54]

Despite them receiving more reinforcements from the Jaku Hospital Team, All For One was able to defeat his pursuers and escapes the battlefield.[55] The Twice Doubles still continue to be a threat to the Heroes as they rapidly swarm all over them, while the Heroes desperately attempt to retreat from Dabi's impending explosion that threatens to consume them all. Thankfully, Shoto arrives to stop Dabi's self-destruction and dissipate the surrounding fire, leaving the Twice Doubles vulnerable for a counterattack.[56]

Sad Man's Legion

With Himiko in control, the Twice Double swarm has become a Twice Double ocean.

However, they regain the upper-hand using Sad Man's Death Parade, creating a wave of clones that completely consume all the Heroes leaving them unable to fight back.[57] Even moreso, the Doubles begin to drink the blood of the Heroes who were wounded on the battlefield, transforming into them creating a further stir of confusion to turn the tide of the battle.[58]

With rage fueling her insanity, Himiko unleashes Sad Man's Legion, releasing these transformed Doubles to the absolute extreme on a gigantic scale. The swarm becomes an ocean and completely consumes all the Heroes, Villains, and Nomu alike, and decimating the nearby city. While the ocean of Doubles washes over everything in its path, Ochaco undergoes a Quirk Awakening as the ocean of Doubles suddenly bursts open with everyone starting to float through the air, thanks to her Quirk spreading between all the bodies that came into contact with each other.[22]

The floating Doubles attempt to make more, but find due to the awakened Quirk they all start to float even after they are created. As they're all left in the air, Ochaco confronts Himiko for the final time, getting her to finally confess to all of her deepest feelings. At this moment, Himiko starts to feel Twice's transformation beginning to wear off of her, with all the Doubles surrounding them slowly fading away, meaning Twice will be gone soon for good. Ochaco compliments Himiko's smile and calling her the cutest, putting her at ease as all the Doubles disintegrate into the sky.[59]
