What is the Walmart Cash Offers Program?
Walmart Cash is promotional currency available to customers with a Walmart account through certain programs offered by Walmart from time-to-time. One such program is through Manufacturer Offers sourced by Ibotta. Walmart+ members can also get Walmart Cash through other membership programs, including exclusively by booking through the Walmart+ Travel benefit. Members and customers can redeem Walmart Cash toward future Walmart purchases in-store and online, or for cash-out in store (limitations apply).

How do I get Walmart Cash?
All customers with a valid Walmart.com account can get Walmart Cash by using the manufacturer offers promotional program. Walmart+ members can also get Walmart Cash with the Walmart+ Travel promotional program, and other programs that may be offered from time-to-time.

Is Walmart Cash actually cash?
No, Walmart Cash are loyalty, award or promotional credits that have no cash, monetary or other value prior to being successfully redeemed at Walmart in connection with future purchases in stores or online, or for cash out in-store (see “How does Walmart Cash redemption work?” for details on how redemption works).
How can I check my Walmart Cash balance?
On Walmart.com or in the Walmart app, navigate to your account. Your current Walmart Cash balance will be on your account page.
In addition, the Walmart Cash page will show a summary of your Walmart Cash balance, as well as the total amount of Walmart Cash you have received as a participant in the program. Select the “Ways to Earn / Earn more” link from your account to visit the Walmart Cash page and then select “View your Walmart Cash activity” to view balance details & activity.
Does Walmart Cash expire?
No.
Is Walmart Cash a credit card?
No.
How do I redeem my Walmart Cash balance?
In-store
- Using the Walmart app in store, sign into your Walmart.com account.
- At the register or self-checkout, scan the on-screen QR code to connect your account. To scan you may use either the scanner in the Walmart app located in the search bar, Walmart Pay, or if you have the Walmart app downloaded, you can also scan with your native phone camera.
- Tap "Use Walmart Cash" to redeem your current balance for a Walmart e-gift card to be applied against the purchase price & select how you would prefer to pay for any remaining amount (if applicable). If your Walmart Cash balance is less than your basket total (excluding prohibited items), your full Walmart Cash balance will be redeemed for an e-gift card and applied towards your basket total. If your Walmart Cash balance is greater than your basket total, only that necessary portion of your Walmart Cash balance will be redeemed for an e-gift card and applied towards the basket total.
Online
- On Walmart.com or the Walmart app, sign into your Walmart account.
- In checkout, tap “Apply” next to your Walmart Cash balance in the Payment Method section to redeem your balance & select how you would prefer to pay for any remaining amount (if applicable).
Cash out in-store
- Using the Walmart app or Walmart.com on your phone, sign into your Walmart account.
- Within your account, tap “How to get / Get more” to visit the Walmart Cash page.
- On the Walmart Cash page in app, tap “Cash out in-store” in the Walmart Cash tools section. On the Walmart Cash page on web, go to the “Redeem Walmart Cash”.
- You will need a minimum balance of $25 Walmart Cash to use this option.
- Tap “Show cash out barcode” to generate a cash out barcode unique to you. Your barcode represents a single-use, Loyalty Digital Code issued by Sunrise Banks N.A., Member FDIC, that is instantly redeemable for cash. Loyalty Digital Codes are subject to the Sunrise Banks Loyalty Digital Code Terms and Conditions found here. Your unique barcode will expire 3 hours after your barcode is generated. A new barcode can be generated following the steps above.
- Head to the MoneyCenter or customer service desk at any Walmart store.
- Display your barcode to the associate to scan, as well as your valid, government-issued photo identification (e.g., your driver’s license or state-issued ID) for security reasons. The name on the identification presented to a Walmart associate must match the name on your Walmart+ account. Your barcode will then be redeemed for cash. To cash out in-store, you will need a minimum of $25 Walmart Cash. The maximum amount you can redeem for cash in a single day is $500, in a single week is $1,000, and in a single month is $2,000. The maximum amount you can redeem for in-store or online purchases, or a combination of cash & in-store or online purchases, is $2,000 per day.
How does Walmart Cash redemption work?
Walmart Cash are loyalty, award or promotional credits that have no cash, monetary or other value prior to being successfully redeemed pursuant to a valid distribution request. What's a valid distribution request? That just means the action you take to redeem Walmart Cash. While the process for redemption occurs seamlessly in the Walmart App or Walmart.com in the backend a few things happen when you make a request to redeem Walmart Cash:
- For future purchases instore or online, a Walmart e-gift card is loaded, which can be applied against most purchases you make at a Walmart store or at Walmart.com.
- For in-store cash out, a single-use, Loyalty Digital Code is issued by Sunrise Banks N.A, Member FDIC, which will be instantly redeemable for cash at a Walmart Money Center upon presentation of a valid, government-issued photo ID and the Loyalty Digital Code barcode. The name on the identification presented to a Walmart associate must match the name on your Walmart account. Other than presentation of an appropriate form of identification at a Walmart Money Center, no additional action is required by you as the process for redemption occurs seamlessly when you make a request to redeem Walmart Cash. The cash out services for the Loyalty Digital Codes are provided by InComm Financial Services, Inc. (NMLS# 912772).
How much available Walmart Cash do I need before I can redeem it?
There is no Walmart Cash balance minimum to redeem in connection with purchases in Walmart stores or Walmart.com.
Are there products or services that cannot be purchased using Walmart Cash?
Walmart Cash can’t be redeemed in connection with purchases for the following items or categories of products, both in-store & online:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Tobacco
- Firearm ammunition products
- Lottery tickets
- Financial services, including those offered through Walmart Money Centers (money transfers, money orders, bill payments)
- Membership fees (Walmart+)
All gift cards, including, but not limited to:
- Walmart & Sam’s Club gift cards
- Any 3rd party gift cards: e.g. Apple, Google, PlayStation, Starbucks, etc.
- Network-branded gift cards (i.e., Visa, Mastercard, AMEX gift cards)
- Re-loadable prepaid cards (e.g. Green Dot, BlueBird)
Prescription-related products, including, but not limited to:
- Prescription products such as prescription pet medications, prescription drugs, & prescription medical supplies
- Prescription co-pays or deductibles
- Health care services provided by Walmart Health or Walmart Health Virtual Care
- Pharmacy purchases submitted to any health benefit program, pharmacy benefit program, insurer or state / federal government health care program
- Optical products & services
Walmart reserves the right to determine or change the products or services for which Walmart Cash is made available for redemption, without notice to you.
Do I lose my Walmart Cash balance if I cancel my Walmart account or Walmart+ membership?
No.
What happens to my Walmart Cash if I pause my Walmart+ membership?
Walmart Cash is available to all Walmart customers regardless of their Walmart+ membership status.
Promotional Program: Manufacturer Offers
What are manufacturer offers?
All customers with a valid Walmart.com account can get Walmart Cash through manufacturer offers on eligible items.
When you’re visiting Walmart.com or using the Walmart app, eligible items will display the amount of Walmart Cash associated with a relevant product & any purchasing requirements. These manufacturer offers will be identified with a checkbox labeled “Get Walmart Cash” or similar terminology.
Once you claim a manufacturer offer & the associated product is purchased, delivered or picked up, Walmart will add the value of the specific offer to your Walmart Cash balance. You can redeem this balance on future purchases in Walmart stores or Walmart.com, or cash it out in-store. See Full Terms.
Who is eligible to get Walmart Cash on manufacturer offers?
All customers are eligible. To participate in the program, you need a Walmart.com account.
How do I get manufacturer offers?
- Sign into your Walmart account on Walmart.com or the Walmart app.
- Find and select the “Get Walmart Cash” box associated with individual products on Walmart.com or in the Walmart app. You can find manufacturer offers from the Walmart Cash page, search bar or product page.
- Tap "Get Walmart Cash" to claim a manufacturer offer & save it to your account.
- In store, you can also find & claim manufacturer offers using the barcode scanner in "Store mode" in the Walmart app.
Purchase the item with the manufacturer offer. Your Walmart Cash will be added to your account when the item is purchased in- store, picked up or delivered.
Where can I see all my saved manufacturer offers?
You can see all your saved manufacturer offers on the Walmart Cash page in the “Your claimed offers” section. You can get to this page on Walmart.com or in the Walmart app by navigating to your account and selecting the “Ways to Earn / Earn more” link.
How do I get Walmart Cash on manufacturer offers?
In-store
- Using the Walmart app in store, sign into your Walmart account.
- At the register or self-checkout, scan the on-screen QR code to connect your account. To scan you may use either the scanner in the Walmart app located in the search bar, Walmart Pay or if you have the Walmart app downloaded, you can also scan with your native phone camera.
- Purchase the associated item.
- Once you have completed the transaction & purchased the associated item, the value of the relevant manufacturer offer you selected will be added to your Walmart Cash account. Nothing further is required from you.
Online
- On Walmart.com or the Walmart app, sign into your Walmart account where you have claimed manufacturer offers.
- Add the eligible item to your cart.
- Place your order.
Once your order is delivered or picked up from the store, the value of the relevant manufacturer offer you selected will be added to your Walmart Cash balance. Nothing further is required from you.
What if I forget to scan the QR Code in-store?
If you forget to scan the Walmart Pay QR Code at checkout, you can still earn Walmart Cash on manufacturer offers if you scan your receipt barcode within 7 days of purchase. We’ll check to make sure you haven’t already received Walmart Cash on that transaction, and that you clipped the offer before checking out. Once confirmed, we’ll credit your account with the relevant Walmart Cash value of the manufacturer offer you selected. To do this:
- Download the Walmart app & sign into your Walmart account.
- Go to Walmart Cash page tools & tap "Submit your receipt". You can submit up to 5 receipts in a 24-hour period.
- Scan the barcode on your store receipt.
To redeem your Walmart Cash balance in-store, you need to scan the Walmart Pay QR code at the register prior to completing the purchase.
How long does it take for Walmart Cash to show up in my balance?
It may take a few minutes & up to 24 hours for the manufacturer offer value to be reflected in your Walmart Cash balance after your in-store transaction. For online orders, Walmart Cash will be reflected in your Walmart Cash balance after the order is delivered or picked up. Your Walmart Cash balance can be found in your Walmart account Wallet & the Walmart Cash page.
Why did I not receive Walmart Cash for an item?
There are a few reasons why you may not receive Walmart Cash for an item:
- The item was out of stock, so the purchase of the item could not be completed.
- The item you selected was unavailable & had to be substituted with another item that was not eligible for the manufacturer offer.
- The manufacturer offer was not correctly saved or added to your account prior to purchase.
- The manufacturer offer had expired prior to purchase. See Offer Details for expiration dates.
Do manufacturer offers expire?
Yes, manufacturer offers have expiration dates & the associated item must be purchased before that expiration date. Manufacturer offers that have expired will be removed from your saved manufacturer offers on the Walmart Cash page. See Offer Details for expiration dates.
Can I get & redeem Walmart Cash in the same purchase?
Yes. You can get Walmart Cash on manufacturer offers & redeem your existing Walmart Cash balance on the same transaction. However, the Walmart Cash you receive in that transaction can only be applied towards future transactions.
Can I use paper coupons & receive Walmart Cash on manufacturer offers for the same item?
No. If you use a paper coupon in-store & have also added a manufacturer offer to your account, the paper coupon will be honored, & you will not get Walmart Cash on the manufacturer offer for that item in that purchase.
Do I forfeit the Walmart Cash I received if I return an item?
When an item for which you received Walmart Cash through a manufacturer offer is returned & the purchase price is refunded to you, the Walmart Cash for that item will be reversed & deducted from your balance, unless there is another item in your transaction to which the original manufacturer offer could be applied.
If your Walmart Cash balance is not sufficient to cover the deduction, your balance will be negative. You will not be able to redeem any future earned Walmart Cash until you reach a positive balance.
If the item with the manufacturer offer I selected is substituted or out of stock, will I still receive Walmart Cash?
No. Only substituted items that also qualify will earn Walmart Cash.
Promotional Program: Walmart+ Travel
Where can I find my booking(s)?
Check your email inbox for a confirmation sent by Expedia. Additionally, you can access your booking(s) by going to WalmartPlusTravel.com and selecting Trips.
How is the Walmart Cash calculated when booking vacation packages?
If you’re booking a combination of air travel and other accommodations, your earnings will be calculated based on 2% Walmart Cash on air travel and 5% Walmart Cash on everything else.
What happens to my Walmart Cash if I cancel or modify my reservation(s)?
The Walmart Cash you earn with the corresponding booking will be adjusted in your “pending” Walmart Cash balance within 24-48 hours in your account.
Will I earn Walmart Cash through Walmart+ Travel if I cancel my membership?
No, you must be a current Walmart+ member at the time of booking to earn Walmart Cash; you cannot earn Walmart Cash retroactively. If you’ve booked your trip prior to cancelling your membership, you will receive the Walmart Cash earned for that booking 30 days after you have completed that booking.
Can I redeem my Walmart Cash on future bookings through Walmart+ Travel?
No, you can only use your Walmart Cash on future Walmart purchases or redeem for cash back. See Walmart Cash FAQs for questions on restrictions for redeeming Walmart Cash.
When will I see my Walmart Cash earned through Walmart+ Travel in my account?
You will see your Walmart Cash as “pending” in your account until your travel is complete. The final amount of Walmart Cash you earned will be reflected in your account 30 days after the completion of your trip or reservation.
Will the Walmart Cash earned through Walmart+ Travel be combined with my other earning programs?
Yes, all the Walmart Cash that you earn will be pooled into one balance and can be redeemed on future purchases in Walmart stores, Walmart.com, or redeemed for cash back at any Walmart store. See Walmart Cash FAQs for questions on restrictions for earning Walmart Cash.
Do I earn loyalty points for Expedia or other loyalty sites?
If you book through Walmart+ Travel, you earn 2% Walmart Cash on air travel and 5% Walmart Cash on everything else. Walmart+ Travel purchases are not eligible for points from other loyalty programs.
