Dotdat San was a Jedi Knight of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] San was part of a Jedi team who carried out an assault on[1] the Mid Rim[3] planet Naboo in order to liberate it from Nihil occupation. During the assault, she piloted a Jedi Vector within a Drift led by Jedi Master Avar Kriss in an attack on the Precipitate Fire, the flagship of Nihil General[1] Abediah Viess.[4] While engaging fighters deployed from the Precipitate Fire, the wing of Jedi Knight Ceryl's Vector tapped the Nihil flagship, knocking her out of the Drift and spinning and careening out of control. In response, San followed after Ceryl.[1]
After the planet was liberated, San was present in the San Tekka clan compound, with Kriss noticing she was on her second helping of a soup cooked by Master Porter Engle. Not long after, San and Ceryl accompanied Kriss and multiple other Jedi as they left Naboo for Republic space on the cruiser Third Horizon.[1]

As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, its events must be set in 228 BBY.
