"Lord Vader, there's been an incident at the Yaga Minor shipyards."
―Luitt, to Darth Vader[3]

Yaga Minor[3] was an industrialized planet[5] located in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories where shipyards were located.[1] A base of the Ubiqtorate, the Galactic Empire's military intelligence branch, was also located at the planet.[4]

In 14 BBY,[6] members of the Free Ryloth Movement rebel cell, led by the Twi'lek Pok, hijacked an Imperial weapons shipment at the Yaga Minor shipyards and fled into hyperspace. The incident was reported to the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader by the Imperial Captain Luitt of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Perilous, and Vader pursued and slaughtered Pok and his crew.[3]

During the Galactic Civil War, some attacks occurred on Yaga Minor.[7] Around 5 ABY,[8] a member of the Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing called the attacks on Yaga Minor suicidal during discussions aboard the 204th's Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier Aerie.[7] In the era of the New Republic, Yaga Minor was eventually part of the First Order's official territory.[5] In 35 ABY,[9] the historian Beaumont Kin referenced several records obtained from Yaga Minor in[4] his[10] book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Yaga Minor was first mentioned in the 2015 novel Lords of the Sith, written by Paul S. Kemp.[3] In Star Wars Legends, Yaga Minor was first mentioned in the 1992 novel Dark Force Rising, written by Timothy Zahn,[11] before later first appearing in Zhan's 1997 novel Specter of the Past, the first instalment of the Star Wars: The Hand of Thrawn Duology trilogy.[12] In the 1998 Coolhand Interactive video game Star Wars: Rebellion, a generic planet image was used to depict Yaga Minor and a number of other planets.[13]
