The New Territories was the northernmost region of the galaxy. It shared borders with the Unknown Regions westward, the Interior southward, and the Slice eastward.^[7] During the Clone Wars, part of the Confederacy of Independent Systems's territory stretched from the New Territories to Hutt Space.^[8]

Behind the scenes[]

In the current Star Wars canon, the New Territories was first mentioned in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement for the roleplaying games produced by Fantasy Flight Games.^[8] The region originated in the 2009 Legends reference book The Essential Atlas, which was written by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace.^[9]
