"[…] So it's back to just the Empire, syndicates and assassins plaguing the galaxy. Which means more lucrative bounties for us! And that's good, because cat food is expensive."
―Vukorah[6]

Vukorah was a human female[2] who held the rank of general in the Unbroken Clan criminal syndicate. After the rival Mourner's Wail Syndicate bombed and killed Unbroken Clan soldiers on Chorgad, Vukorah attacked Mourner's Wail forces. Seeing the Unbroken Clan's leader to be ineffective,[4] Vukorah eventually eliminated those with loyalties to the old line,[7] becoming the leader of the syndicate.[8]

Biography[]

Early life[]

Vukorah was part of the Corellia criminal syndicate Unbroken Clan during the Imperial Era.[4] She[3] rose to the rank of General within the Syndicate.[4]

Around 10 BBY,[9] Vukorah personally interrogated and tortured bounty hunter Beilert Valance after he was caught in the Unbroken Clan sanctuary in Coronet City during the attempted murder of Krynthia, the heir to the Mourner's Wail Syndicate, who were the chiefest rivals of the Unbroken Clan. The murder had been prepared by Khamus, the heir of the Unbroken Clan, who had impregnated Krynthia and wanted to hide their relationship. Valance had taken part in the plot along with the Nautolan Nakano Lash, the Trandoshan Bossk, Boba Fett, and T'ongor. Valance did not know the answers to the questions Vukorah kept asking him, which led the General to activate her interrogator droid to torture him.[10]

Hunting down Cadeliah[]

In 3 ABY,[11] Vukorah attacked, without her boss knowing, a group of smugglers of the Mourner's Wail Syndicate at the Smugglers' Refueling Station in the Kessel sector. She and her henchmen killed the Iktotchi criminal who was leading said operation. In that moment, she received a call from Lash, who intended to come in terms with her surrender; Vukorah decided to stall the call and trace the signal, ordering her henchman to ask Lash about Cadeliah, daughter of Khamus and Krynthia, who was under the Nautolan's protection.[4]

Lash's transmission's trace came from the planet Ruusan so she went there searching for Lash, Cadeliah, and Valance, planning to kill them all. Then, after she had found Nakano Lash's freighter, one of her henchmen fired a hit on the ship's reactors, causing Lash's death and Boba Fett, who also was inside the freighter, Valance and Cadeliah to leave the exploding ship. When, despite the explosions, the Broken Wing and Slave I's energy signatures appeared on the sensors proving the survival of some of the people involved in the disaster, Vukorah promised herself to hunt down the little girl wherever she would go.[10]

Vukorah decided then to hire the Gand findsman Zuckuss and his droid partner 4-LOM to find Valance and Cadeliah, dead or alive, for her and promised to pay them enough to repay the loss of money caused by failing to capture the Rebel leader Han Solo.[8]

The search for the Path Engine[]

After that she was seen on Corellia interrogating a Sullustan smuggler named Remy who acquired a specialized hyperdrive manufactured by the Nihil marauder during the High Republic Era. After Remy told the General to pursue Sana Starros instead, whom he made contact with the day before, and to ask the other smuggler the questions she needed, Vukorah killed the Sullustan with her knife. She then took Remy's datapad, which contained information about the Path Engine, and went out in search for Starros. At the door of the hideout, Chelli Lona Aphra detonated a Detonite Ring, which hurt Vukorah and sent her unconscious. After that Aphra proceeded to take the Datapad from Vukorah, who revealed to actually be awake and pointed her blaster at Aphra, only to be disarmed by Starros, who was with Aphra at the moment; the pair got away while the Unbroken Clan's guards were overthrown by other Detonite Rings.[3]

Vukorah the followed the two on the planet Dol'har Hyde, where Remy first found the Path Engine, and started blasting on the tree where they were exploring the wreckage of a Nihil ship. She then threatened Aphra and Starros to kill them if they don't surrender and Aphra responded faking a surrender and then escaped right before Vukorah could kill her with her ship's blasters. Vukorah, who thought no one could have survived the explosion that followed the shot, headed towards the planet Midarr, where an Ortolan bartender from Dol'har Hyde told her the hyperdrive engine had been sent.[12]

On Midarr, Vukorah broke in the De'Rruyet Center with a squad of Unbroken Clan's henchmen to retrieve the Path Engine. She then killed a technician called Cadil, who tried to inform her that the engine wasn't operational, threatened to kill a person every five minutes until the ship wasn't fully-functional and pointed her blaster at Beol De'Rruyet, leader of the project.[13]Chelli Aphra then entered the room, revealing to be still alive, and proposed to fix the engine herself, because, being an expert in ancient technology, she was the only one capable of fixing the ship before the Empire could arrive to arrest the Unbroken Clan members. Vukorah accepted the deal, and promised Aphra that she would have been the last person to be killed in the room. Meanwhile Sana Starros was alerting Imperial Stormtroopers and making hostages escape from the building. In the moment when Vukorah decided to stop waiting for Aphra to fix the ship and kill her, the Stormtroopers entered in the building started firing on the Unbroken Clan. Aphra managed to escape with the crystal core of the Path Engine with Sana Starros and, when Vukorah tried to follow them, the smuggler shot her in the eye, leaving Vukorah scarred and wounded.[14]

Auction for Han Solo[]

Grand Leader Vukorah

Vukorah returned to Corellia to recover from her wounds when, entering her house, on of her guards is killed by the Zabrak assassin Deathstick, who was already in the house. Vukorah then killed her other guard, because he suggested to go into an unsafe location. Deathstick the officially invited Vukorah to represent her syndicate at the auction for the carbonite-encased Han Solo, hosted by the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn on the planet Jekara, because the actual leader of the Unbroken clan locked himself away mourning. Vukorah, reluctant, accepted the invite.[15][1]

She then participated at the event,[16] staying even after Darth Vader's attacked Crimson Dawn's leader Qi'ra to retrieve Solo. Margo, Qi'ra's assistant, noticed that and Vukorah, while drinking spice wine, affirmed that's "her kind of party" and was looking forward to more mayhem.[17]

After that Qi'ra invited Vukorah into a private meeting, proposing her to ally herself and the Unbroken Clan to unite all the criminal underworld: to do this, Vukorah needs to take the leadership of her syndicate, which she can't take because is not related to the Unbroken Clan's dynasty's bloodline. Qi'ra replied showing Vukorah a mysterious object in a box, making Vukorah accept her request.[5]

Taking over the Unbroken Clan[]

At the Unbroken Clan Palace on Corellia, Vukorah confronted the clan's leader while her bodyguards killed his. She claimed that he had been an ineffectual leader since his daughter died, while she had given everything to the clan. She used the Unbroken Dagger to stab the Grand Leader, telling him as he died that he had a granddaughter named Cadeliah. Vukorah declared herself the new leader of the Unbroken Clan and told a guard to send a transmission to Qi'ra.[2]

As the head of the Unbroken Clan, Vukorah recruited children who had worked for the White Worms, earning the ire of Lady Proxima. Proxima gave T'onga's crew intel on Vukorah's security, which the crew used to abduct Vukorah after T'onga injected her with a sedative.[18] On the Edgehawk, T'onga interrogated Vukorah about where Crimson Dawn was keeping Cadeliah, but Vukorah gave nothing away and threatened to kill T'onga's wife Losha.[19] Dengar, who was sent by the Crimson Dawn to infiltrate T'onga's crew, spoke with Vukorah, revealing his true allegiance. Dengar led the crew to the Vermillion at Bilbousa Spaceport, claiming that he got its whereabouts from Vukorah, but this was actually a trap set by Crimson Dawn.[20] Losha stayed on board the Edgehawk to watch over Vukorah, but Vukorah escaped her bonds and attack Losha, wounding her with a knife. Losha unleashed her nexu Furball,[21] but Vukorah identified a weak spot on the creature and struck a fatal blow with her knife. Regretful about having to kill an animal, Vukorah escaped the ship.[22]

Some time later, Vukorah was brought in binders to the Unbroken Clan Palace, where Skormarra sat on the throne. He told Vukorah that he knew about the syndicate's rightful heir Cadeliah and that he intended to kill Vukorah. Vukorah stole a blaster from a guard and used it to shoot Skormarra and his lackeys, reclaiming the throne.[23]

Vukorah used a droid to spy on an Unbroken Clan member and his brother, who were conspiring to kill her.[24] Afterward, she took a camtono full of credits and jewels from the Unbroken Clan's vaults and called some of the syndicate's soldiers, including the two conspirators, to a meeting. While drinking toniray that she had taken from the Vermillion, Vukorah revealed that she knew the soldiers were planning on killing her in her sleep, and she announced that she was resigning as Grand Leader. Just then, the bounty hunter droid IG-88 broke into the fortress to claim the Imperial bounty on Vukorah and her subordinates for collaborating with Crimson Dawn.[25] Vukorah asked the droid about his ability to detect lies, and then asked if she was lying when she said that she was no longer the leader of the syndicate and had no current connection to Crimson Dawn, which IG-88 said she was not. She then identified the lead conspirator as the current Grand Leader, causing IG-88 to shoot him, followed by his cohorts. The IG unit asked if Vukorah was the one who broadcast the coordinates to the Unbroken Clan base, which she confirmed. IG-88 asked her what she got from the transaction. While walking away with the camtono in hand, she answered that she got a fresh start.[26]
