"The Emperor's primary charge is to protect us, is it not? And that's what the P.O.R.D. legislation will do."
―Vivyn — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

Vivyn was a human senator in the Imperial Senate of the Galactic Empire. Shortly after Galactic Emperor[1] Sheev Palpatine[2] introduced the Public Order Resentencing Directive in response to a rebel heist on[1] the planet[3] Aldhani[1] in 5 BBY,[4] Vivyn attended a party held at the Chandrilan Embassy on[1] the planet[2] Coruscant.[1]

At the party, Chandrilan Senator Mon Mothma attempted to win votes to oppose the directive, holding a conversation with Vivyn, Senators Dhow and Teenar, and the guest Slorda. Drink in hand, Vivyn claimed that the directive would protect them, as was the Emperor's primary charge, and stated that they had already seen what too little protection looked like during what Vivyn considered to be dangerous times. Vivyn then chuckled when Slorda changed the topic with a joke. Vivyn had light skin and red hair. At the party, the senator wore a pink dress with a golden necklace and matching earrings.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Vivyn was portrayed by Alice Orr-Ewing in "Narkina 5," the eighth episode of the first season of the live-action series Andor,[1] which was aired on October 26, 2022.[5] The character's name is not spoken in the episode, but is given in the subtitles and credits.[1]
