"Palpatine's frustrating, yes, we agree. Too easily provoked? Yes. Overreactive, but…"
"Understatement."
"Says what he means."
―Slorda and Teenar — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

Slorda was a human who attended a party at the Chandrilan Embassy on the planet Coruscant in 5 BBY. At the party he spoke with Senators Mon Mothma, Dhow, Teenar, and Vivyn about the Galactic Empire's new Public Order Resentencing Directive, but he was unconcerned with the increase in Imperial surveillance and arrests that the directive caused.

Biography[]

"Do you feel under threat?"
"Personally? Here, yes. I'm at great risk of ingesting too much of this nourishing Chandrilan hospitality."

Slorda attended a party at the Chandrilan Embassy.

Slorda was a human who attended a party in the Chandrilan Embassy on[1] the planet[3] Coruscant[1] in 5 BBY.[4] The party took place shortly after Galactic Emperor[1] Sheev Palpatine[3] introduced the Public Order Resentencing Directive in response to a rebel heist on[1] the planet[5] Aldhani.[1]

Chandrilan Senator Mon Mothma hoped to gain votes against the directive at the party and spoke with Slorda and Senators Dhow, Teenar, and Vivyn. During the conversation, Slorda agreed that Palpatine was frustrating, overreactive, and too easily provoked, but[1] he[2] countered that the Emperor also spoke his mind and that citizens had nothing to fear from the directive's increase in surveillance and arrests as long as they had done nothing wrong. He agreed with Vivyn that they were living in dangerous times, but when pressed on the subject by Mothma, he changed the topic with a joke about being in danger of ingesting too much of the drink available at the party.[1]

Personality and traits[]

"Surveillance and prosecution without limit."
"If you're doing nothing wrong, what is there to fear?"
―Teenar and Slorda — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

Slorda had light skin, gray eyes, and gray hair. He seemed unconcerned by the increases in Imperial oversight brought about by the Emperor's new directive.[1]

Equipment[]

During the party, Slorda wore dark blue robes with a matching hat, a golden necklace, and a golden ring on the ring finger of his right hand.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Slorda was portrayed by an uncredited actor in "Narkina 5," the eighth episode of the first season of the live-action series Andor,[1] which aired on October 26, 2022.[6] The character's name is not spoken in the episode but is given in the subtitles.[1]
