Behind the scenes[]

"Look out for the Warden who is one of the evilest characters I've ever written."
―Daniel José Older[3]

The warden was created for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project and was first mentioned in an interview between authors Daniel José Older and Alyssa Wong that was posted on StarWars.com on January 23, 2024.[3] The character was later mentioned in the junior novel The High Republic: Escape from Valo, written by the two aforementioned authors[1] that was released on January 30 of the same year as part of the multimedia project's Phase III.[3] Older confirmed on Twitter that the usage of "they'll" and "their" within the section of Escape from Valo mentioning the warden was referring to the prison ship and not the Nihil's pronouns.[4]

Had a quick question about the epilogue of Escape from Valo. Regarding the Nihil prison warden at the top of the image, was the useage of he/they intended to indicate alternating pronouns sets? Thanks for any help you can give! Spoiler tagged the page")
