Sprite was a carbonated soda available in plastic orb bottles and paper cups at various eateries throughout Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu in 34 ABY. Imported by Jat Kaa, a Lurmen male from the planet Mygeeto, the drink was also sold to travelers and locals via his company, Jat Kaa's Coolers, at pop-up locations around the outpost and in the nearby ancient ruins.
Description[]
Sprite was a clear, carbonated soda that was packaged in green plastic orbs with white Aurebesh writing that read "Sprite," surrounded by a black, angular border over a yellow hexagon. The beverage was sealed using a metallic, screw-on cap with several rectangular protrusions.[1] It was also served from dispensers with ice in large- and regular-sized paper cups. The drink was safe for humans to consume.[2]
History[]
During the war between the First Order and the Resistance[3] in 34 ABY,[5] the Lurmen male Jat Kaa, who originally hailed from the planet Mygeeto, had Sprite bottles imported to the settlement Black Spire Outpost on the world of Batuu in the Outer Rim Territories. Employees for his company, Jat Kaa's Coolers, sold them to offworlders and Batuuans at various pop-up locations throughout the outpost and in the nearby ancient ruins.[3]

Kaa also purchased multiple R-series droids from Mubo,[3] the Utai proprietor of the Droid Depot,[6] and had them reprogrammed to drive purpose-built vehicles around Black Spire Outpost selling bottles of Sprite and other beverages. J1-KC, J2-KC, and J3-KC drove the vehicles that sold Sprite, while J4-KC distributed Sprite bottles to the various pop-up locations in a vehicle with a paint scheme similar to that of the Sprite beverage containers. J5-KC also delivered Sprite bottles to those locations, though in a cart with a paint scheme similar to that of Diet Coke bottles instead.[3]
The same year,[5] Sprite bottles were served in Black Spire's market at Kat Saka's Kettle,[1] while cups filled with the soda were available at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo,[2] Ronto Roasters,[4] and in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room on the Purrgil-class starcruiser Halcyon.[7]

Sprite is a soft drink made by The Coca-Cola Company. Specialized spherical containers for the beverage were created specifically for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, a theme park land that opened to guests at Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019. The themed packaging was developed as part of a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering, Lucasfilm Ltd., and The Coca-Cola Company,[9] which has had a partnership with Disneyland since 1955.[10] The specially packaged drink was revealed during the "Bringing Star Wars to Life at Disney Parks" panel at Star Wars Celebration Chicago in April 2019,[9] which debuted an advertisement featuring a crate full of Sprite, Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, and Dasani beverages being stolen from two distracted First Order stormtroopers.[11]
As part of a creative process that lasted more than three years, Coca-Cola Design presented concepts for the bottles in various shapes and sizes before settling on the rustic orbs found in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Matt Cooper, an associate industrial designer at Coca-Cola, stated that the intention behind the final design was to evoke a sense that the bottles had just been offloaded from a ship or abandoned and repurposed into drink containers. The Aurebesh logos of the soda brands originated when a group of Imagineers toured the Coke Archives in Atlanta, Georgia and saw the iconic Spencerian script Coca-Cola logo in various languages.[8]
