Ralltiir was a terrestrial planet located in the Core Worlds. During the Clone Wars, Lieutenant Commander Orson Krennic of the Galactic Republic financed a few weeks of vacation on the planet for the smuggler Has Obitt's former crew members as compensation for replacing them. Ralltiir later served as a safe world for Senator Mon Mothma's organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire, which was eventually formalized as the Rebel Alliance. The planet was also the homeworld of General Pharl McQuarrie and the pilot Derek Klivian, who were human members of the Alliance.

Description[]

Ralltiir was a terrestrial[3] planet situated in the regions known as the Core Worlds[1] and the Interior.[2]

History[]

Klivian-Derek-Hobbie

Rebel pilot Derek Klivian was a native of Ralltiir.

During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, Republic Lieutenant Commander Orson Krennic replaced the crew of his operative, the smuggler Has Obitt, with a team of Republic Intelligence direct action operatives led by the former Judicial Matese on Ralltiir. After the exchange, Krennic financed a few standard weeks of rest and recuperation on the planet for Obitt's former crew members.[3] Also around that time period, the YT-1300 light freighter Stellar Envoy, which was owned by an obscure organization known as the Republic Group and allegedly linked to holding companies on the planets Coruscant and Corellia, was registered at Ralltiir.[6]

Later, Ralltiir allied itself with an organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire led by Senator Mon Mothma, serving as a safe world for the rebels. In 2 BBY,[7] the planet was highlighted as a rebel ally on a galactic map that was eventually collected by archivist Hendri Underholt in The Rebel Files, a top-secret dossier of sensitive information vital to the rebellion—later formalized as the Rebel Alliance.[1] Ralltiir also shared its name with the Ralltiiri Light Freighter, one of the starship models present in the Citizens' Fleet[8] that assembled to oppose the Sith Eternal forces at the Battle of Exegol in the year 35 ABY.[9]

Inhabitants[]

Ralltiir was the birth place[10] and homeworld of the human rebel pilot Derek "Hobbie" Klivian, who was an Imperial cadet before defecting to the Rebellion.[4] General Pharl McQuarrie of the Rebel Alliance was also a human hailng from the planet.[11] The Mon Calamari were another species found on Ralltiir.[5]

Behind the scenes[]

Ralltiir was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2015 reference book Ultimate Star Wars.[12] The planet was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 1981 Star Wars radio dramatization, adapted by Brian Daley and produced by National Public Radio.[13]
