National Public Radio, or NPR, is a commercial-free radio venture in the United States which reaches an audience of 26 million people daily.

NPR produced and broadcast 1981 Star Wars and 1983 The Empire Strikes Back radio drama adaptations. The third series in the trilogy, Return of the Jedi (1996), was produced by HighBridge Audio, an affiliate of Minnesota Public Radio, and broadcast on NPR.[1]

Several Star Wars–themed programs were aired in 2005 during the run-up to the release of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, including an interview with composer John Williams, reviews of the movie, and more.
