"Seeg, the Rodian, and I staged a fistfight in one of the larger clubs in the capital city. The little lizard missed a cue and broke my nose… I threw him over the bar, but it was an 'honest' accident. The stunt worked—when we were released from the local jail the next morning, Tefilous informed us that our popularity on Ord Dorlass had increased by six points."
―Siro Simito, report on the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade[3]

Ord Dorlass was a Mid Rim world located in the Iskin sector. Serving as a Galactic Republic Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost during the Pius Dea Era, around 3643 BBY it was affected by an epidemic of a dangerous disease. During the Galactic Civil War it served as a stopping point in the popular interstellar race known as the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade.

Immediately prior to one such race, when handing a data module over to the racer and undercover Rebel Alliance operative Siro Simito for secret delivery to the celestial body Fait d'Fait, his fellow Rebel agent Kaini posed as a holovid reporter from Ord Dorlass. When Simito and his competitor Seeg stopped on the world during the race itself, they staged a fistfight in a local nightclub that resulted in a boost to their popularity.

Description[]

Ord Dorlass was a terrestrial[3] world[5] located in the Ord Dorlass system, a part of the Iskin sector[1] in the Trailing Sectors portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] It lay at a distance of no more than seven days' hyperspace travel with a Class 1 hyperdrive from both[3] the Outer Rim Territories[1] celestial body Dahvil and[3] the Expansion Region[1] astronomical object Tintel.[3]

History[]

Republic history[]

Ord Dorlass served as an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost for the Galactic Republic during the Pius Dea Era, a period of time that lasted between approximately 12,000 BBY and 11,000 BBY, despite it being located outside the borders of Republic space. When the Republic launched the Twelfth Pius Dea Crusade against the Teirasan and Zarracine species in 11,660 BBY, Republic forces advanced through Ord Dorlass toward the Zarracina system.[4]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity.

Around 3643 BBY,[6] an epidemic of a dangerous disease causing fever and hallucinations took place on Ord Dorlass, and in response quarantine was established. An individual affiliated with one of the sides in the ongoing struggle between the Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire subsequently sent a companion to enter the quarantined area and take samples from the victims of the disease.[7]

Interstellar racing[]

"The Promenade is one of the shorter races, consisting of only four legs: Dahvil to Ord Dorlass; Ord Dorlass to Tintel; Tintel to Azna; and Azna to Fodro."
―Siro Simito, report on the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade[3]
Siro Simito

The pilot Siro Simito visited Ord Dorlass as part of the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade race.

During the Galactic Civil War, Ord Dorlass served as the first of the three mid-race stopping points of the popular[3] annual[8] Star Rally interstellar racing route known as the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade. At one point, the racer and undercover Rebel Alliance operative Siro Simito was tasked by the Alliance to deliver a data module from Dahvil to a contact on[3] the Mid Rim[1] astronomical object Fait d'Fait while participating in the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade.[3]

Similarly to other such missions, the Alliance arranged for the agent Kaini to hand the data module to Simito. On Dahvil, the starting point of the race, the former agent posed as a holovid reporter from Ord Dorlass who pretended to interview Simito about his feud with the fellow racer Seeg. As part of the Rebels' pre-arranged act, Simito—pretending to lash out in annoyance at the repeated mentioning of his rival—used his vibro-ax to slice off the supertelephoto lens of Kaini's cam droid, and the racer subsequently picked up the casing of the lens, which contained the hidden data module. After the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade began, Simito intentionally decreased the hyperdrive efficiency of his starship on the first legs of the race's route so that he would not later make a suspicious delay on the segment of the route where the racer planned to make a detour to Fait d'Fait.[3]

During a stop on Ord Dorlass, Simito and Seeg staged for publicity purposes a fistfight at a nightclub in the world's capital city. In the process, the latter accidentally broke the former's nose, and Simito also threw Seeg over the establishment's bar. On the next morning, after the two racers were relased from the local jail they had been incarcerated at, the Star Rally promoter Pann Tefilous notified them that their popularity among the audience on Ord Dorlass had risen by six points. At some point by the time that shortly followed the Battle of Yavin, Rebel Alliance General Airen Cracken included Simito's report, which mentioned the racer's visit to Ord Dorlass during the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade, in a datafile detailing various Rebel operatives.[3]

Inhabitants[]

"I've got relatively few fans on Dahvil, so I was able to walk through the crowd with little incident—until the holovid crew from Ord Dorlass pushes their equipment in front of my face. 'Excuse me, Siro,' the reporter—a Human female wearing blue facepaint—says, 'but we'd like to ask you about your feud with Seeg. Is the bad blood still there?'"
―Siro Simito, report on the Dahvil-Fodro Hyperspace Promenade[3]

Ord Dorlass was a suitably colonized world with active entertainment media.[5] The Human Rebel Alliance agent Kaini once posed as a reporter forming one half—complemented by her cam droid—of a holovid reporting crew from Ord Dorlass.[3]

Locations[]

The capital city of Ord Dorlass was a cosmopolitan settlement[5] that featured multiple nightclubs as well as a jail.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Ord Dorlass was created by Chuck Truett and was introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Ord Dorlass system, and therefore the world itself, in grid square O-16.[2]

Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "The Terror Plague" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
