Kela'pi was a Valon woman who hailed from the Outer Rim planet Valo and helped run her family's general store in the Haplak district of Lonisa City. However, the store was ransacked by Nihil marauders following their occupation of Valo in 230 BBY. In 229 BBY, the Jedi youngling Gavi traveled to the Haplak district with his crew and saw Kela'pi cleaning up shattered window glass from the Kela'pi family store and wished to help her, though ultimately chose not to.

Biography[]

The Valon Kela'pi was a woman who lived on her homeworld, the Outer Rim planet Valo, within the Haplak district of Lonisa City. During the High Republic Era, she and her family ran a general store that local Valons residing in the neighborhood often acquired various goods from. The Jedi youngling Gavi became familiar with Kela'pi during his childhood and was welcomed by the woman while spending lot of time in the area visiting his friend—the Valon girl Driggit Parse—in her home nearby.^[1]

When Nihil marauders began occupying Valo^[1] in 230 BBY,^[2] they ransacked local businesses and stole from Lonisa City's residents, including the Kela'pi family's store. While returning to the Haplak district with his crew members^[1] in 229 BBY,^[2] Gavi traveled by the store and saw Kela'pi kneeling beneath one of the store's shattered windows, sweeping up freshly broken glass. Saddened, he briefly wished to assist her by moving the shards but eventually opted not to due to the risk of being recognized as a Jedi by the Nihil.^[1]

Personality and traits[]

Kela'pi and many of Lonisa City's residents welcomed Gavi's company prior to the Nihil occupation and treated him warmly.^[1]

Kela'pi appeared in Escape from Valo, a 2024 junior novel written by Daniel José Older and Alyssa Wong as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's^[1] Phase III.^[3]
