"Following the attack on Valo, the Unified Republic Task Force has tackled Nihil marauders on Aris, Port Haven, and Golrath. They're running scared."
―Stellan Gios, to his colleagues[2]

Golrath was an Outer Rim astronomical object where the Unified Republic Task Force defeated Nihil marauders in 231 BBY. By 2 BBY, it served as a regional headquarters and operations sector for Senator Mon Mothma's organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire.

Description[]

Golrath was a terrestrial astronomical object[2] located within the Outer Rim Territories.[1]

History[]

Jedi-meeting-THR9

Stellan Gios reports the victory on Golrath to his peers.

In 231 BBY,[3] following a devastating attack on the Galactic Republic's fair at[2] the planet[3] Valo by the Nihil marauders, the Unified Republic Task Force fought the Nihil on Golrath and emerged victorious. Victories against the Nihil on Golrath and the celestial bodies Aris and Port Haven were reported by Jedi Master Stellan Gios during a meeting with his colleagues in the Jedi Order and Republic regarding their campaign against the Nihil.[2]

By 2 BBY,[4] Golrath was used as an operations headquarters by an organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire, which was secretly led by Senator Mon Mothma. A map of the galaxy sent to Mothma noted it among rebel safe worlds, starfighter hubs at level five or higher, operations headquarters, shadow planets, and deep space caches. The archivist Hendri Underholt eventually included the map in the compilation of non-electronic documents known as The Rebel Files.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Golrath was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, written by Daniel Wallace.[1] Originating in the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet Golrath first appeared in the fiftieth issue of Marvel Comics' 1977 Star Wars comic-book run,[5] written by Archie Goodwin, penciled by Al Williamson and Walter Simonson, and released on May 19, 1981.[6]
