The result of the debate was use Basic names for Twi'leks. - Sikon 07:29, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
I have noticed that when it comes to Twi'leks names we go with the "Basic" version, and not their own. For example, Aaylas'ecura is under the article Aayla Secura. Tottdon'eeta is under Tott Doneeta and Alem'arar is under Alema Rar.
Now it is my understanding that when possible, articles should be named by their last known name, or their name in their own language when possible. So I am proposing that whenever possible, we move articles like Aayla Secura whos names in Twi'lek we know, too their Twi'lek names.

- The wiki is written in Basic. Basic names. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:32, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

- Yes, Cap'n, I think we have. I know that we use "Mandalorian" rather than "Mando'ade" and "Mon Calamari (planet)" instead of "Dac", for similar reasons. I could see using it only for those Twi'leks who are usually referred to with joined names in-universe by Basic speakers, but this doesn't seem to be the case for any of the examples Jasca Ducato gave. —Silly Dan (talk) 23:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, we agreed to use their names in Basic where possible, not in their native language. As Riffs says, this is a Basic encyclopedia. jSarek 23:32, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- We "basically" just voted about this with Joh Yowza. —Xwing328(Talk) 23:54, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

- With the exception of die-hard, read-every-book-and-comic-written fans, nobody is going to know them by their honor name. And frankly, Aayla Secura, Tott Doneeta, Nawara Ven is still their given birth name. Running their name together like Aaylas'ecura, Tottdon'eeta and Nawar'aven is a twi'lek honorary title. And it was voted on and agreed to remove titles from article names, with the exception of leaving Darth in Sith names. - JMAS 14:48, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Comments[]
- As far as I know, "Aaylas'ecura" and "Tottdon'eeta" and most other contractions are blatant fanon. The fact that most Twi'lek characters don't even use any such contractions when referrig to themselves or other Twi'leks seems to show that even they don't use it.
