The result of the debate was to refer to all creatures from Star Wars as "creatures" and not "animals". Graestan(Talk) 14:35, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Some articles which describe animals with ambiguous names have titles like "Bear (creature)". Others take titles like "Panda (animal)". Most of our categories have names like Category:Creatures of Endor, but "Animals of Endor" would serve just as well. While I have no real preference one way or another, it might be worth standardizing things. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:44, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Creatures[]
- Might as well chime in early, I suppose. "Animal" refers to a particular classification of life-form which is used in our world (Kingdom Animalia) while "Creature" is less precise. Thus, the odder alien life forms could still be classed as "creatures" even if they had plant-like features as well. Din's Fire 997 05:47, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

- While "animal" is used in canon, "creature" is far more common. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 11:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- This is actually the first time I've seen the word "animal" used in an article title; I have to agree with Din's Fire as well as AdmirableAckbar. If there's no major preference, I'd prefer to stay with "creature" since rolling out "animal" all across the wiki would be a lot of effort for something that matters little. - I have to say, I don't care at all, and am very tempted to vote "no policy" (though I hate the term instruction creep), but I suppose it would be good to have this standardized. Chack Jadson (Talk) 18:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

- For having a rule. Against caring what the outcome is, just voting here in case someone decides to vote for one of the other options just to be a jerk like somebody always inevitably does. For permanently banning the phrase "instruction creep." -- Darth Culator (Talk) 00:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
