Biography[]

Bok Askol was a Pacithhip female born on Shimia[1] around 56 BBY.[2] Askol worked as a podracer engineer and had followed the dream of becoming an expert mechanic in the hopes of joining a podracing crew.[4] Askol was in the spaceport[3] of Mos Espa[5] on the planet Tatooine to attend the Boonta Eve Classic podrace[3] in the year 32 BBY.[6]

Prior to the race, the Pacithhip spent time in the podracer hangar[3] of the Mos Espa Grand Arena,[5] where Askol spoke with a Quarren next to[3] the podracer of the Nosaurian Clegg Holdfast.[7] Askol then viewed the race itself from the private box of the Toydarian junk dealer Watto in the arena.[3]

During the First Order occupation of the planet Batuu[1] in 34 ABY,[2] Askol was 90 years old. At this time, the pirate Hondo Ohnaka sent several stolen identity profiles, including a profile of Askol, to the datapads of several individuals in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. The individuals were preparing to carry out a heist for Ohnaka Transport Solutions, and Ohnaka wished to test if they could remember information concerning a potential cover identity, quizzing them on details from each of the profiles.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Askol had gray skin, blue eyes,[3] and no hair. The Pacithhip stood 6 feet, 10 inches tall and weighed 269 pounds.[1]

Equipment[]

The Pacithhip wore a set of green overalls during their time on Tatooine.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Bok Askol first appeared, albeit unnamed, in the 1999 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.[3] The character was first named in the new Star Wars canon in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia.[7] The name originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first used on a card in the 2001 Theed Palace Limited expansion set of the Star Wars Customizable Card Game.[8]
