City Ruins: Eternal Apocalypse (廃墟都市・長久ノ終末?) is a stage that appears in Soulcalibur VI. This stage is available as a part of DLC2: 2B, alongside 2B. It is a redesign of the original City Ruins level of NieR:Automata.

Profile[]

Steel towers wrapped in twisting vines, great concrete edifices overcome by creeping roots, and elevated roads brought low dot this vast city. Once teeming and prosperous, the now silent ruins emanate a melancholic beauty only found in destruction long past. The sole disturbances to this quiet grave are the wild birds and animals sometimes sighted amid the vegetation and, here and there, a machine lifeform tottering through the streets. Even after driving humanity from Earth, the machines have continued to propagate, and they lurk in every corner of the city while lying in wait for the next threat, their glowing red eyes peering out from the undergrowth. Should they catch sight of an android, they will pour out of their hiding places ready for battle.

Trivia[]

  • The stage has some references from the original game:
    • Sometimes, before the match, you will see the Red Girls appearing behind both fighters.
      • In the beginning of a round, they can also appear near the stage inside the building.
    • When both players go at the ends of the stage of their own side, Emil's Shop music could be heard, while the stage music becomes less audible.
      • Emil can be seen driving around at certain times beneath the stage.
    • 9S can be seen in different places throughout the match:
      • In the first two rounds he is on the giant tree located behind Player 1's starting position.
      • In the third round he can be seen off in the distance talking to Father Servo in his Black Belt, quadruped form.
      • In the fourth round, he's nowhere to be seen.
      • In the fifth round, he can be seen on top of a building talking to the Mother Machine and Child Machine, surrounded by the destroyed remains of the machines that were threatening the Child Machine in the fourth round.
    • A2 can be seen standing on top of the destroyed overpass in the background in the first to fourth round. In the fifth round, she can be seen inside the building surrounded by the now-destroyed remains of the machines that were there in the previous rounds.
    • Devola and Popola can be seen in a building behind the tree on the left, where 9S is.
    • Father Servo appears on a building far away in the background, changing forms every round (until the fifth):
      • In the first round, he appears in his White Belt, small stubby form.
      • In the second round, he appears in his Brown Belt, small biped form.
      • In the third round, he appears in his Black Belt, quadruped form, talking to 9S.
      • In the fourth round, he appears in his Red and White belt, goliath biped form.
      • In the fifth round (and all other rounds afterwards), he appears in his Red Belt, medium biped form.
    • The Child Machine and Mother Machine from the Family Squabble side quest in NieR:Automata appears on top of the roof of the building that is behind Player 2's starting position:
      • In the first two rounds, the roof is empty.
      • In the third round, the Child Machine is walking around on the roof.
      • In the fourth round, the Child Machine is cowering in fear while surrounded by two small biped machines, a medium biped, and a Multi-leg Medium Model machine, all of them with yellow eyes except the Multi-leg Medium Model machine, who has red eyes.
      • In the fifth round, the Child Machine and Mother Machine is talking to 9S, surrounded by the remains of the machines that once surrounded the Child Machine.
    • Friedrich appears in fifth round walking back and forth carrying a bucket inside on the left side of the building.
    • Multiple Romeo and Juliet machines, from the Stamp Collecting quest in NieR: Automata, appear inside the building on the second floor.
      • In the first round, there is only one Juliet machine.
      • In the second round, a Romeo machine appears to the left of the Juliet machine.
      • In the third round, another Romeo machine appears on the left of the first Romeo, and another Juliet machine appears on the right of the other Juliet machine, totaling to two Romeo machines and two Juliet machines.
      • In the fourth round, two more machines appear, one Romeo and one Juliet, totaling to three Romeos and three Juliets.
      • In the fifth round, the second floor is completely empty. A reference to the end of the Romeo and Juliet play seen during the original quest, where all the machines die.
    • Pascal will sometimes come to fly near the stage in his flying mode.
  • Most of the machines in the stage have red, yellow and blue eyes.
    • In the original game, the machines have red, yellow or green eyes, not blue.
    • Moreover, Pascal has blue eyes, instead of green in the original game.
  • The announcer's quote for this stage is 2B's very first line in the original game.
