Manifest ( (さい) (げん) Saigen?) is the Quirk used by Tamaki Amajiki.

Description[]

Manifest grants the user the ability to enhance their body parts with the characteristics of anything they consume.

Tamaki Amajiki squid fingers

Tamaki manifesting Takoyaki into tentacle fingers.

Tamaki can manifest certain traits of any food he's eaten while it's still active within his digestive system. For example, if he eats Takoyaki, he can transform his fingers into octopus tentacles and if he eats a clam, he can harden his hands into a clam shell, etc. Multiple simultaneous manifestations of different foods are also possible.

The more of a substance is eaten, the stronger the manifestation will be; this Quirk technically has no upper limit to its potential.[1]

Although they usually are, items consumed do not necessarily have to be food, as anything Tamaki's body is capable of consuming will work with his Quirk, such as Yu Hojo's crystals.[2]

Manifestation occurs only on command and any trait can be dismissed at will.

Weaknesses[]

The transformation is maintained by the amount of the respective item within Tamaki's system. If Tamaki's system were to run low, this would render him unable to manifest any characteristics. He must replenish his arsenal by eating certain foods every single day.

Usage[]

Tamaki has mastered his Quirk through vigorous training. He possesses the ability to manipulate feature selection, size manipulation, and simultaneous manifestations. This gives Tamaki's fighting style incredible variation and unpredictability.[2]

Tamaki Manifest Combo

Tamaki using tentacle and clamshell husk combo to attack.

Tamaki makes sure to eat plenty of Takoyaki and clams every day because they're useful for both offense and defense; he often uses tentacle fingers to bind his opponents and defends himself using a clamshell husk.[3] Tamaki has a variety of other powerful combinations as well, including using chicken talons strengthened with octopus muscles, or tentacle fingers reinforced by crab shells.[4]

Prior to any mission, Tamaki can prepare by eating special foods for certain situations. Fat Gum fed Tamaki swordfish so that he could exploit Chronostasis' Quirk's weakness.[5][6] This can also lead to Tamaki overpreparing, manifesting traits he doesn't even need to use to win.[3]

Ultimate Moves[]

Chimera Kraken Kraken (クラーケン Kurāken?): Tamaki mixes his Quirk to its maximum conflagration while arming himself with layers of shells for protection. Then he unleashes a massive tentacle attack that releases multiple giant tentacles that attack in a rotating wave.[2]
Vast Hybrid Chimera - Centaur Centaur (ケンタウロス Kentaurosu?): Like Kraken, this move is a Vast Hybrid technique used to transform himself into a raging centaur-like fighter. It changes his lower body into bull legs, adds bull horns to his head, and his hands into vines that swing around various hard fruit.[7]
Octopus Mirage (Anime) Octopus Mirage (オクトパスミラージュ Okutopasu Mirāju?): Tamaki replicates the cloaking abilities of octopuses to mask his presence with the surroundings so he can attack his target by surprise.[8]
Scorpius Toxin (Anime) Scorpius Toxin (スコルピウストキシン Sukorupiusu Tokishin?): Tamaki manifests scorpion tails on his body with which to attack his opponent and inject venom into them.[8]
Plasma Cannon Activation Plasma Cannon (波動砲 (プラズマキャノン) Purazumakyanon?): Tamaki unleashes the full potential of his Quirk by combining everything he has consumed, as well as energy from Nejire Hado's Wave Motion, into one powerful laser cannon.[9]
