Francois Pienaar…if you don’t follow rugby, you may not immediately recognize the name, but I’d bet you know the story from the award-winning movie, Invictus. Last week we heard that story live when Francois joined us for a fascinating discussion centered on two core ServiceNow values, Create Belonging and Win as a Team. Francois embodied both throughout his legendary rugby career…most notably when he captained South Africa to victory in the 1995 Rugby World Cup. His insights on building TEAM from a foundation of shared values were incredibly powerful…as was his description of meeting Nelson Mandela for the first time. What a privilege to have you Francois!!
As a South African university student during the Springboks’ 1995 World Cup victory, I firsthand experienced a torn nation coming together to support their team. That memory is still so emotive, so alive, and still causes the hairs on my arms to stand up today! Truly embodies the power of united belonging. Paul, Thank you for sharing Francois inspiring insights: must have been an incredible talk!!! #proudlySouthAfrican #Springboks
Create belonging and win as a team! Not a slogan but a strong mindset that materializes in a powerful team focused on the success of our customers. Love it !
Paul Fipps this one is for obvious reasons close to my heart - good choice :-) He managed to bring together a team and nation like no one else. A legend!
Francois was such an amazing story teller with great life experiences! Paul Fipps thanks to you and your team for putting that together. I wonder if Nick is aware that he has some competition for interviewing duties? :)
