90 days in at ServiceNow. The short version? Great people, great company, and great products. A few highlights of what I think makes the company great:  1. The people. They truly support diversity, and different backgrounds are seen as culture adds, versus other companies that look for culture fit. This makes the company more dynamic and able to evolve.  2. Wow our Customers. Customer service is at the heart of every great company.  3. Win as a Team. This is more than just words. I see daily actions where the team has each other's back, and works to support each other and deliver! This is very refreshing and inspiring to see on a regular basis. :)  4. Our CEO, Bill McDermott. He may be one of the most high-energy inspirational person I've ever seen. I enjoyed his book. 🎂 Six months at ServiceNow… …and I am more excited about the opportunity in front of us than ever!   Here's the message I shared internally with my teams:   It’s been an intense and fascinating time for me. I have had the pleasure of getting to know so many very talented and motivated people that make up the team in South EMEA – not just the area VPs and Country GMs but across all functions - some of our highly specialist sales and tech teams, legal, marketing, Inspire Value, Digital, Ops... - whose passion for what we do has just blown me away. I have also been able to spend time in almost all countries in the region (Spain, Italy, UAE, KSA, France) with our valued customers and partners, listening to their challenges, their desire for adding value and collaborating on the strategic digital solutions we can deliver together. Working with institutions in the public sector and global leaders of the financial sector as well as key players in the telco and manufacturing industries and our specialist partners has been hugely enriching, but these are only examples and a subset of a huge ecosystem working with the Now Platform. Throughout my conversations it is becoming increasingly apparent that every business, irrespective of the industry, size or geo, needs a digital backbone. Increasingly, businesses across the region are looking to ServiceNow to be that backbone because our technology is bringing disruptive change to the way businesses harness insight and manage operations and - we actually are making their world work better. 🤩 I am thrilled to be a part of this team, inspired by the people I am meeting and the strategic and agile approaches to finding solutions in today’s tricky socio-economic climate. Yesterday, a candidate reached out to me that not only made my day, but gave me goosebumps. They told me the following: “Hi Niloy, Hope everything is fine at your end! Despite of how it went with OpenText for me, you were amazing - so, quickly wanted to keep you posted that I got into *XYZ* company as an SDR. Despite of my experience, I met a good person - that's how I always think of you, a recruiter who actually cares about people :)” I wanted to share this for 2 reasons: 1. If you’re a candidate that’s struggling and getting rejected in final rounds. I know it hurts like hell. But it’s not the end of the world. Just a matter of time until you find the right opportunity. The candidate above got rejected after making it to the final round with OpenText a few months back. As frustrating as that was for him, he still listened to my feedback and took it positively. After couple months of proactive networking and applying, he has now landed a role with one of the BIGGEST tech companies in the world. Remember when 1 door closes, 100 other doors will open up for you. Use that energy of frustration as fuel to fine tune your mistakes, get better at your craft and reach new heights. 2. To my recruiting friends out there, let us put aside some time to provide valuable feedback for candidates that make it to the interview stages but get rejected in the process. That extra 5-10 minutes (although a bit timely and not always possible), to provide feedback can be life changing for the candidates. And can be life changing for us too. In the field that we are in, we will almost always get what we give. To the amazing soul that messaged me yesterday, you know who you are.
