It was an honor to join so many dedicated civil servants at the Canada Public Sector Forum. They are truly making the world work better for everyone and I feel immense optimism in the power of government using technology in service of people. Heartfelt thanks to public sector employees everywhere and especially to Terry Schultz for joining me on-stage to share the Government of Alberta story…it’s amazing what you can do to transform citizen services with the right platform and TEAM.
Well done, Paul! Thanks for representing the best of us in #Canada. I couldn't agree more! Trust starts at the top and it's amazing what we can do when we collaborate to build the future together.
Canada 🇨🇦 is a federal state, that consists of 10 provinces and three territories, the provinces are Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island 🏝️, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. The territories are the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon the major difference between a Canadian 🍁 province and a territory is that provinces receive their power and authority from the Constitution Act of 1867, while territorial governments are creatures of statutes with power delegated to them by the parliament of Canada 🇨🇦.
“We’re in trouble!” says Chris Gardner. “Big trouble and it's going to get worse, much worse.” The President of the Independent Contractors Association of British Columbia says, “The Prime Minister and Minister of Finance work in a building 4,427 kilometres from Surrey.” He says, “They’re even further away than that from understanding the challenges facing construction contractors, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and everyday Canadians.”
Gardner makes four compelling arguments: “First - health care is a disaster. Second – our rail, port and road infrastructure has failed to keep pace with growth. Third – we are in the middle of an unprecedented housing affordability challenge. And finally – public safety is at an all-time low and sinking.” His assertions are on the heels of projections from the OECD, which states that Canada is ranked dead last among 38 advanced economies.
Gardner contends, “For Canadians looking to Ottawa to unleash the potential of entrepreneurs, investors, businesspeople, and young workers dreaming about the opportunities the future holds, it’s difficult not to conclude that Ottawa is fighting against them.”
We invited Chris Gardner to join us for a Conversation That Matters about the mess Canada is in, how our international reputation has tanked, and the harsh truth behind how we got here.

I am not sure for what reasons you wrote this comment. Please can explain why you would want the prime minister of Canada to be thanked and removed. And what has he done to be regarded by you as an idiot sir?
Canada is one of the richest country in the world, run by idiots! There's no other way to put it. It's so important that Justin Trudeau be thanked for his service, and then removed from office.
The latest issue of ReNew Canada has an insightful article by Quentin Chiotti and David Van Vliet. “A Call to Action” summarizes the challenges in Canada to building resilient infrastructure. The authors remind readers that there isn’t enough money now to fund infrastructure renewal to current standards, never mind to resilient ones. Standards and policies are slow to change, and in the absence of improved standards, it is business as usual. Chiotti and Van Vliet’s call to action invites leaders responsible for infrastructure to advocate for and factor in climate adaptation because the risks of failing to do so are significantly higher than the cost of planning proactively. This is a good, short read and worth sharing with clients in the municipal sector and other levels of government. https://lnkd.in/gpjJCfjk
