- Luca, Luca, Luca. Rollbacker, EduCorps, AgriCorps, Inquisitorius, these are just a few of the titles he currently holds. Luca is a fantastic individual and a great mentor to all users, new and old. His writing and reviewing is solid, and his positive presence on Discord is always a delight. I'm honored to start a vote to welcome him onto the admin team! I think Luca is one of the best Wookieepedians, if not the best, I have ever interacted with. I deeply respect him. I trust him, and I believe he fully deserves administratorship. Luca's an excellent review board member and a great editor. I can't name a better candidate. He's always willing to help and willing to review Kiljpedia nominations, a notable trait. Long live the kitty, and congratulations, Luca! Samonic(Vote struck per policy: General rules, point 2 -- Ayrehead02 (talk) 09:57, 10 May 2023 (UTC))(Talk) 10:04, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

- I can still remember when Luca first started off editing Wookieepedia and made his first status article nomination in the summer of 2021. Albeit complete strangers, we talked quite a bit while sorting through the nits and grits of Wookieepedia article writing, and with his good humour and willingness to learn despite the setbacks and objections that I had to bring up to him in the course of the review, I knew right then that Luca would make a good editor. With me still being a fresh EC member at the time, we even joked about Luca possibly rising up to the ranks of an EC one day as well after learning the ropes to Wookieepedia, and that he did. But even I could not have imagined where we are now, with Luca being considered for adminship. His willingness and boldness complements his kindness and determination, which are evident in his everyday interactions with fellow users and newcomers alike, be it on Discord or through the article review process. It is a joy to see you come this far, and it would truly be an honour to work alongside you on the admin team. So happy for you, Luca! OOM 224 (he/him) 16:19, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

Optional candidate Q&A[]
- Why do you want to become an administrator?
- Probably like everyone else here, my ultimate goal on Wookieepedia is to help it grow and expand, as well as to make it the best place for everyone who'd like to contribute. I believe that by becoming an administrator, I could be much more effective in trying to reach those objectives.
- In your opinion, what is the role of an administrator?
- An administrator is a contributor that has been recognized as experienced, active, consistent, and a positive force on the site. Their main role should be to help the newcomers and guide the community in difficult times. An administrator should always try to help any user that needs assistance, whether it is of a technical or political nature.
- In your view, do administrators hold a technical or political position?
- I'll go with the standard answer to this question: it's a bit of both. It is a technical position because the admins have rights that "normal" users do not have, and they are also expected to know the policies of the site very well, so they can provide technical help to any user in need.
The admin position, however, is also a political one. Admins have to ensure that the community remains healthy and that no one gets discriminated against. They will have to take difficult decisions and make sure always to act with the community consensus. Therefore, I believe it's both technical and political.
- I'll go with the standard answer to this question: it's a bit of both. It is a technical position because the admins have rights that "normal" users do not have, and they are also expected to know the policies of the site very well, so they can provide technical help to any user in need.
- How do you feel admins should use their power/stand in comparison with other users?
- Admins should use their powers only to enforce existing policies and/or act with the community consensus. An admin is not to be considered "superior" to any user and should never abuse their powers for personal advantage.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- In more than two years on the site, I have indeed faced some conflicts, although not as many as one would imagine. Whenever I find myself in a distressing situation, I always try to reason with the fellow Wookieepedian, possibly asking for external advice if we end up going in circles. The most important thing is to remember that we're all here to create the best Star Wars Wiki and to always assume good faith.
- Of your articles or contributions to Wookieepedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with?
- I plan to help with everything I'm able to do, including admin paperwork and other projects.
- How important is it for you to be involved in things such as CT, FA, GA, and other community-centered items that involve discussion and voting?
- Well, status article nominations reviews are the thing that I do the most on this site, so they're pretty important to me. :P CTs/TCs/SHs are also a very important aspect of the Wook that allows for democratic votes, and I always try to vote on them.
- Do you think admins performing actions (I.e. deletions, blocks, etc.) for reasons not covered on policy should be sanctioned/punished? If so, how?
- Admins are certainly bound by policy, so any administrative action done deliberately against policy should be reverted. However, in certain cases, a quick administrative decision may need to be taken, and therefore, I believe admins should be allowed to have a certain degree of freedom.
- What is your policy, if any, of welcoming new users? Should you welcome a new user, do you look at their contributions beforehand? What about anonymous IPs?
- I try to welcome all the newcomers I can. You can't build the best Star Wars wiki without having new people contributing to it. Regarding IPs, I'll just say that it sucks we cannot communicate with them since they don't have a talk page.
- How would you react if someone undeleted an article you'd mistakenly speedied? Under what circumstances would you consider it appropriate to undelete an article mistakenly speedied by another administrator, if any, and how would you approach this task?
- I'd probably try to understand why the article was undeleted and explain why I had chosen to delete it in the first place. After that, if we can't come to an agreement, I'd tend to ask for input from other and more experienced admins.
- How would you react if your user page was vandalized? Under what circumstances would you block the offender? Is there anything else that you would do in this situation?
- I would warn them that they have violated Wookieepedia:Vandalism, but I would treat my own userpage as I'd treat any other page on the site.
- Under what circumstances would you consider blocking an established user?
- Blocking should be the extrema ratio, so I'd first try to reason with them and warn them that their behavior is harmful. However, if they should continue to act that way, I'd ask for insight from the other admins and try to understand the best way to act. However, established users aren't and shouldn't be exempt from the blocking policy.
- If you could change any one thing about Wookieepedia, what would it be?
The fact that it is not complete.Jokes aside, I'd probably like to have many more newcomers every week that would actually stick around.
- Would you look at a glass to be half-empty or half-full?
- It's actually completely full: half water and half air. :P
- Do you feel the current blocking policy is too restrictive, not restrictive enough, or OK as it is?
- I think it's pretty good as it is right now.
- How do you feel about people who already have some influence on other Star Wars communities (TheForce.net, StarWars.com) trying to change policies here?
- They are to be treated like any other user. If they meet the 50-mainspace-edits requirement, then they should be free to vote on CTs like anyone else. They shouldn't hold a privileged position, though.
- How many clones do you think fought in the Clone Wars? (Note: You are wrong no matter what answer you give.)
- 300,000 with a
number += sum(1000000 for _ in range(n))
more on the way.
- 300,000 with a
- Who is the most awesome Jedi of all time? (Note: The only correct answer is Kyle Katarn.)
- What's more important to you: consensus or policy?
- Policy, as long as consensus doesn't change it. So policy is more important "right now" but consensus in the long run, if that makes sense.
- Have you had any previous leadership experience (in your community, on the web, etc.)?
- Aside from being class rep, not that I can think of.
- What is your attitude towards users who have quit the site or have been banned, but still continue to attempt to influence the site in any way?
- People who have quit the site are more than welcome to join again whenever they want but banned people probably shouldn't try to influence the site while blocked. They are also very welcome to come back once their block expires, though.
- What is your wiki philosophy?
- If a Star Wars thing doesn't appear in our records, it does not exist. That's pretty much what I think the Wook should ultimately be from a purely technical standpoint (Fun fact, throughout this Q&A, I've realized I can't spell "technical," lol.) From a social standpoint, the Wook is something I absolutely adore and a place where I've found a lot of amazing friends. I believe that the final goal of the Wook should be to generate happiness for everyone, exactly like it has done for me. LucaRoR
