Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

«I'd love to see the Council try their hand at this job. The Ascendancy would never fly again. Go on, get out of here—I've got work to do.»
―The foreman, to Samakro[1]

A male Chiss foreman worked at a bluedock space station located over the Chiss Ascendancy planet Csilla. In 19 BBY, he oversaw repairs to the Chiss heavy cruiser Springhawk after it had been damaged in a firefight and complained to the warship's first officer, Mid Captain Ufsa'mak'ro, about the amount of work that was required.

Biography[]

«Well, I suppose that's why you're out there running into missile salvos and I'm in here putting your ship back together. Sensor nodes needing replacement: seven. Hull plates needing replacement: eighty-two. Spectrum lasers needing repair or refurbishement: five. And what's this nonsense about adding an extra tank of plasma sphere fluid?»
―The foreman, to Samakro[1]
Csilla neighborhood

The foreman worked at a bluedock located over Csilla.

In 19 BBY,[2] following the Lioaoin skirmish, where the Chiss species retaliated against the Lioaoin Regime for an earlier attack, a Chiss male foreman supervised repairs to the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet heavy cruiser Springhawk at a bluedock space station located over the Chiss Ascendancy planet Csilla. He complained to the heavy cruiser's first officer, Mid Captain Ufsa'mak'ro, core name "Samakro," about the work that was to be done, with the officer replying that it was not their fault the Chiss Defense Hierarchy Council kept sending them into battle. The foreman emphasized the damage sustained and sarcastically stated that the Springhawk did not win its battles fast enough.[1]

While looking over the details of the repairs, he noticed that the warship's commanding officer, Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, "Thrawn," had requested an extra tank of plasma sphere fluid, which he considered "nonsense." The foreman estimated that the repairs to the Springhawk would take around six to seven weeks but also that he could expedite the process if he received a rush order from Expansionary Defense Fleet Supreme General Ba'kif or the Council's Supreme Admiral Ja'fosk. He added that Samakro could thank him by ensuring the ship was not damaged again, although Samakro believed that that would merely make the foreman's job obsolete. The worker then ushered the officer out of the bluedock to begin repairs. The warship was succesfully repaired, and soon took part in a battle over the Vak Combine nation planet Primea.[1]

Personality and traits[]

«That's why you're in here performing maintenance miracles and we're out there making people regret tangling with the Chiss Ascendancy.»
―Samakro, to the foreman[1]

Although upset with the damage sustained to the Springhawk, the foreman maintained a professional tone when dealing with Samakro but did reply sarcastically on occasion. He was also pleased when Samakro complimented his "maintenance miracles." While speaking to Samakro about the extra tank of plasma spheres Thrawn had requested, he wished the senior captain would at least come to the bluedock and ask for it in person.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The bluedock foreman appeared in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first volume of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
