"I am not willing to fight. not [sic] a problem. I am much too afraid to die. Please… I beg of you to let me go. Please leave me alone."
―The RA-7 protocol droid, to a smuggler[2]

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, an RA-7 protocol droid served aboard an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. There, at one point the droid encountered a smuggler who had escaped from detention and wanted to retrieve their starship's impounded cargo. The droid begged the smuggler to spare his life and pointed them to a way to access the Star Destroyer's cargo bay.

Biography[]

"You can enter the cargo bay going through dock 18."

The RA-7 protocol droid served aboard an Imperial-class Star Destroyer.

An RA-7 protocol droid[2] manufactured by Arakyd Industries[1] served aboard an Imperial-class Star Destroyer of the Galactic Empire during that government's reign. At one point, while the RA-7 protocol droid was present behind sealed doors separating a cargo bay of the Star Destroyer from its interior passageways, a previously arrested smuggler broke out of their detention cell aboard the starship. In order to retrieve their light freighter's impounded illegal cargo that was being held in the Star Destroyer's cargo bay, the smuggler had their astromech droid, A4-J4, slice into the cargo bay door system.[2]

Upon opening the doors, the smuggler came face-to-face with the RA-7 protocol droid, whom they threatened with a captured blaster rifle. In response, the droid, who was not willing to resist and stated he was afraid of dying, begged the smuggler to let him go and directed him to entering the cargo bay through dock 18. The smuggler and their companions followed the suggestion and ultimately escaped the Star Destroyer.[2]

Characteristics[]

The droid had dark plating with bronze-colored exterior components on his palms and dark photoreceptors.[2] Like all RA-7 protocol droids, he stood 1.7 meters tall.[3]

―The dialogue line by the RA-7 protocol droid, as presented to players of Unlock!: Star Wars Escape Game upon first encountering him[2]

The RA-7 protocol droid appeared in "An Unforeseen Delay," a scenario of Space Cowboys' 2020 card game Unlock!: Star Wars Escape Game. When players of the game first encounter the droid, his dialogue presents an antagonistic attitude; however, when he is threatened with a blaster rifle, it is revealed—via a game-mechanical effect—that that line is merely a part of his actual, much-less confrontational dialogue.[2]
