"Though I am long since gone, through my droid and friend, Bard, my voice and stories live on."
―Tohan Lege[3]

Tohan Lege, known as the Lore-weaver, was a historian who lived in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu long before the First Order-Resistance War. Dedicated to telling stories, he fled persecution from those who would silence his voice and found refuge and a home in Black Spire Outpost.[3] From there, he collected an oral history from local Batuuans, and chronicled the colorful and fiery stories of the area.[1] He wrote down stories of Jedi and Sith, as well as many stories of conflicts that touched the outpost.[3]

At some point, Lege found an old, discarded R1-series astromech droid behind the Droid Depot in the Land Port of Black Spire Outpost. With the help of local mechanics, he used junk parts to make a new functional droid. He named this new droid Bard, and the two recorded the entirety of Lege's collected history of Black Spire Outpost.[1]

By 34 ABY, Lege was long since deceased, but Bard remained in Black Spire Outpost to share the stories of the Lore-weaver. The droid played recordings those stories for the local festival known as the Fire of the Rising Moons.[1]
