- "Though I am long since gone, through my droid and friend, Bard, my voice and stories live on."
- ―Tohan Lege
Bard was a modified R1-series astromech droid that belonged to the Batuu historian and "Lore-weaver" Tohan Lege. Lege found the discarded remains of an old droid behind the Droid Depot in the Land Port of Black Spire Outpost and recruited local mechanics to help create a new one. Assembled into its current form from assorted junkyard parts, Bard helped Lege in his mission to assemble and record an oral history of Black Spire Outpost and ensure that it could be carried on into the future. In the years after his death, Bard continued the Lore-weaver's legacy by replaying his stories for the Batuu festival known as the Fire of the Rising Moons.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Bard was created for "Fire of the Rising Moons," an alternate audio presentation of Disneyland's fireworks shows for guests within the boundaries of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. A physical figure of the droid debuted on May 24, 2024, placed on a platform near Docking Bay 5, near the Millennium Falcon.[3]
