Official Description[]

According to several articles, the official description of the Battle of Jakku is as follows:

Fans who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront will be among the first players to experience the Battle of Jakku, the pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted key Imperial holdouts on a remote desert planet on the Outer Rim. Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Players who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront can fight the battle one-week early starting on December 1, 2015. All other players will get access to this free content on December 8, 2015.

Should this be considered confirmation that there is/was a canon New Republic after the Battle of Endor? Or should we wait for more reputable information to be released? --Cyrannian 17:40, April 17, 2015 (UTC) Question: Which YT- 1300 light freighter participated in the Battle of Jakku?

Super SD from CA trailer[]

Per assorted analyses of the trailer, can we safely add in, on the Imperial side, "possibly one Super Star Destroyer", since the X-wing and SD are confirmed from the battle, I don't think it too much of a stretch to think that an SSD was at the battle, namely the one that crashlanded upside down. --WTRiker (talk) 03:38, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

  • Very true, and while it likely is, it has not been confirmed, and is not easily identifiable. So, per Wookieepedia's policies we can't identify as such until we know for sure. Besides, it could be something totally new! Nivlacanator(talk) 04:19, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

Real life[]

I think the parallels to both the Battle of the Bulge and Battle of Kursk in World War II are obvious enough to merit description in a notes section - as much as any real life stuff is, at least.

In both cases, after suffering a major defeat at Normandy/Stalingrad/Endor, the Nazis/Empire launch a desperate major counterattack meant to regain lost momentum, but this final throw of the dice results in a humiliating defeat at the Bulge/Kursk/Jakku which only serves to deplete their only remaining strategic reserves.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 22:00, October 20, 2015 (UTC)

  • While there may be legitimate parallels, the inclusion of that information is original research/speculation unless the filmmakers state, in something we can source, that those events provided the inspiration for the battle. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:54, October 20, 2015 (UTC)

CR-90 Casualties[]

In the art provided by EA it clearly shows that there will be also CR-90s that will be lost in the battle. Can we list CR-90s in the casualties of the battle?

Last jedi knight?[]

The prelude says luke skywalker is the last jedi knight in the galaxy, but where do we have any proof?

I'm going to change it until we can get a better source than Episode 6 - Lord T'Tam (talk) 01:03, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

Hyperspace Mountain[]

According to a new interview, Imagineering worked with Lucasfilm Story Group on the Hyperspace Mountain attraction and apparently it's intended as an early portion of the space side of the battle. Keep getting extension hook errors when I've tried adding information on it though. http://www.endorexpress.net/related/season-of-the-force/talking-season-of-the-force-with-wdis-brent-strong/

Main Summary[]

The whole "The Battle of Jakku served as the decisive last stand of the Galactic Empire and final large-scale battle of the Galactic Civil War over one year after the Battle of Endor. The battle was fought between the New Republic and the depleted forces of the Imperial Military on and over the Inner Rim desert planet of Jakku." summary needs to be expanded more.Jkirk8907 (talk) 06:35, March 18, 2017 (UTC)

Luke Skywalker?[]

Are we sure that Luke was in the battle? From what I've read the story doesn't seem to have credibility and since the book is mostly myths, legends, and stories, I don't think we should take this literal.--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 14:44, November 2, 2017 (UTC)

  • I tend to agree --Lewisr (talk) 14:53, November 2, 2017 (UTC)
    • That doesn't prevent us from including information from that story into the article. We just have to take appropriate precautions, saying: "According to So-and-such, Luke Skywalker did this." We're not saying it actually happened, just that someone reported it. --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest (Audience Room) 15:06, November 2, 2017 (UTC)
      • Makes sense, its possible that some of these events did happen just maybe not as described in the book, I guess that's the general point of the book. If we state as you say that according to or it was believed by then we should be okay --Lewisr (talk) 15:14, November 2, 2017 (UTC)
        • It should go into the Aftermath section. "According to so-and-so years later, Luke Skywalker did this during the battle." That way we're framing it as a story about the battle. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:17, November 2, 2017 (UTC)
          • Seems like the most appropriate place to add it --Lewisr (talk) 15:28, November 2, 2017 (UTC)

Why does Admiral Versio keep getting removed?[]

He was one of the main high ranking Imperial leaders during the battle. Why shouldn't he be listed in the commanders section of the infobox? Several users have added him in but it keeps getting removed. Editorguy (talk) 00:46, January 16, 2020 (UTC)

  • Not everyone with a rank needs to be added, they need to actually be in command of forces to go in the commanders section. Being just in command of a Star Destroyer doesn't qualify. --Lewisr (talk) 00:50, January 16, 2020 (UTC)
    • He wasn't just in command of a Star Destroyer, as an Admiral he had many ships under his command.Editorguy (talk) 00:51, January 16, 2020 (UTC)
      • Source for that? --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 00:55, January 16, 2020 (UTC)
        • He'd need to be the commander of a squadron/fleet/unit before he could be added into the commanders section. If we added every person in command of a ship the list would just be endless, we discussed and modified how we did this exact thing just over a year ago --Lewisr (talk) 01:01, January 16, 2020 (UTC)

"down the second Death Star's reactor core, where he died."[]

And that's a fact! --UncleLad (talk) 17:08, September 30, 2020 (UTC)
